At work we'll be getting new machinces soon and I don't want to lose all the pics and movies on the hard drive (at work). What is the best way w/o a CD burner to transfer my files (until the new comp. shows up) to my home PC and then put them back?

Do you have a network there? If so use GHOST. Its a tool made by symantec and I believe there is a free download. If not PM me ;). You can use it to take a complete "image" of the drive. Then using GHOST Explorer you can retrieve anything you want. All files are compressed and most images can fit on a CD.:D

Easiest:
Zip up all your files and move them to another machine on the network. Once you have your new box set up, retrieve the zip file and and uncompress it.

Broadband connection + win2000/winxp:

Set up IIS on your home machine. Upload the zip file onto your ftp site. Setup your new machine at work and ftp the file off ur home machine.

Extreme measures:
set up ur old hd as a slave to your new one

or

Go pick up a USB CDRW and go burn happy at work :)

Goodluck =)

If you have a static IP at home, get a shareware FTP server program (like ServU) and set it up at home, then FTP in from work and transfer everything over.
