Hey everyone, I've got 10 laps in at the Stockton track on my new 2005 KTM 450SMR. I'm trying to figure out if this is for me or not. I've been a moto-x rider/racer for ,well, a long time, and I've been doing track days on road bikes for about 5 years. This supermoto stuff has got my attention, but it seems so difficult to find a track to ride. I can ride my moto-x bike anywhere anyday, and nowadays you can get a track day for your streetbike nearly every day of the week. Are there going to be more SM tracks in our future? One day at Stockton, another at Dixon, and I guess Davis too, but, I'm too spontaneous for scheduling my riding. Are there more tracks in the Bay Area? Secret parking lots practice I don't know about? Help me stay motivated! Or I'm gonna jump on my moto-x bike and head for the local secret sand track and sell the KTM.

It might be best to think of supermoto as an additional thing to do,instead of a replacement for dirt riding. I did't quit dirtriding because I found supermoto, and I won't quit SM cause there are fewer places to ride (compaired to dirt).
But hey- if you're bored already after only 10 laps at Stockton then, by all means, sell your bike. We live in the epicenter of this new motosport, so it's bound to get better. Just maybe not fast enough for you. I've done a few hundred laps at Stockton, and I am still challenged every time I go.
Also, if you follow a race series, such as Supermoto USA, you get to ride tracks all over the place; Ukia(sp?) was really cool;Sacramento was amazing,Medford was fun. It just does'nt sound like you have given it much of a chance.
The motorcycle world loves when people buy a nice bike, loose interest, and then sell at a substantial loss! I would hope that you might stay around awhile!

Try 20 laps to see if it's for you or not.
