Hey I wouldn't mind that. I remember when I was 17 I test drove a 92 SL2, and I actually went into tears from the lack of power. I ended up taking an old 1987 BMW 325is.

I like the design.
But, it's still a GM. ;-)

Buick is supposed to be selling a version, also. Last I read they were gonna call it a Bengal & tie it in with Tiger Woods for marketing, but that may have changed (even moreso now with the tsunami).

acutall street price is expected to be under 25K... and it's expected to be a 2007 model, with production starting in 2006.
"The SKY, introduced at the North American International Auto Show and slated for production in 2006, is the first vehicle to feature a new look that will influence Saturn's entire future product lineup."
"Starting price for the SKY is expected to be less than $25,000. It will be built at GM's Wilmington, Delaware, assembly facility."

I'm .. impressed. For a GM and a Saturn, it's got some good specs. 170hp@6400, 162lb-ft@4800, and it's only 2860 lbs. With some proper tuning, this looks to be a serious competitor as a roadster. The suspension set up looks pretty good. I'm no fan of Saturn, but .. this just doesn't look like an ordinary Saturn. Of course, it IS patterned after the Vauxhall VX Lightning Concept Car.

That look pretty good. It reminds me off a Honda S2000

It's a cross branded Pontiac Solstice.

Of course, it's GM.
Just like the Solara Convertible and the SC430 are the same car. ;)
Or the Acura TL and Honda Accord.
Still, I'm surprised it's being marketed as a SATURN in the first place. Totally out of "character" for the company.

Maybe its powered by a honda motor like thier suv the VUE. Looks damn close to the S2000 interior "style".

I really like the looks but the engine totally kills it for me.
Looks like the engine is something similar to what's in the current Ion lineup. Other than maybe the size/convert factor you'd probably be better off with a Redline. Ah well.

It's a Z4-S2000-Viper-Boxster-Miata replica.

Acura TL and the Accord are not the same car. Unless you were trying to be sarcastic. They are different from each other in a lot of ways. I dont even think they share the same motor anymore (Accord and the CL did at one time)
As far as this Saturn is concerned, its the new launch of the "kappa" platform that GM has developed. Its a small basically modular platform that they are going to be building 4-5 different vehicles around, two so far being this Saturn and the Solstice. They are in fact different cars, but will use the same chassis etc. Motors I believe are going to be different between the platforms however. The pontiac was road tested about a year ago by car and driver, and it basically knocked their socks off. Projected price for the solstice (pontiac version) is going to be around $18k.
Damn! For a second there i thought this was another mid engined car..... oh well.

Am I the only one who still remembers the "Saturn Home coming" commericals.
Toll Booth buy- "What kinda car is that?"
Future Minivan Mom- "ITS A SATURN!"

actually not much so, the solara and SC might bare resemblance but the toyota with a 3.3 V6 and the lexus at 4.3 V8 is already a big difference between both cars. And I wouldnt compare the TL to the accord either. But its just me...
