I don't have any chicken of my tires. Show us your tires have chicken strip or not and here is my front tire after riding one day on HWY9...
=Moderated, can you please add: (I have no chicken stip on my tires) In to the pull and please change "I'm too checking to I'm too chicken. Hehe

Hey G...you always sound like the nicest, most enthusiastic guy I know...but I often have no idea what you're talking about:
I'm too checking
I'm still trying
Never go to the track or the hill

And hell no I don't have chicken strips on my tires...Chicken strips only make good eating

only the front right now, but the last time i rode was @ t-hill. after riding around on the street i have them on both tires. i don't really give a fuck if i have them or not. i don't go fast enough on the street to lose them, only the track, and i've got a long way to go there too.

Did you look at that front end? The before pic, not the after one..He had all the necessary equipment for succesful posing IE.
no chicken strips
wave rotors
carbon fiber fender
ohlins forks
.........calipers
On the track, I would consider him well financed. On the street, I would consider it posing...

Of course I have strips. the tires are 4 days old and I ride in the rain with them. Hell I have a whole Filet of chicken, not just the strips.
You might even consider the center of my tire the chicken stip. Chicken to go off of it when it is raining and the tires have 40 miles on them.

Well, normally I got about... maybe a half inch of strips on the rear tire. less on the left than the right (i seem to be better at left turns than right turns, obviously).
But right now... the tire's ALL CHICKEN! cos I haven't gotten the new rubber onto the rims, yet.

That normally for some one better on the left turns that the right turns. I think it because the right hand is on the gas and a lot of people just doesn't feel good get on the gas. I have the same problem until I went to the track.

Not really.
I never scrubbed the tire all the way to the edge until I was on the track. And that was at CSS school. It was almost too easy for me, in a track environment. By the second or third session my tire looked like scrambled eggs--ragged to the edge.
But when I came home, I never used the full tire on the street.
If you're using correct technique, and you're using ALL of your tire on the street, you're going way too fast.
I had a friend in college who was a slower rider than me... he'd always scratch his pegs in the canyons and rub his tires to the edge --yet I was faster, and did none of those things.
I later found out he "hung off' the opposite side of the bike when going around corners (like a flat tracker). That'll do it!!!

+1 Followed a guy on a group ride that did the same thing, he was slow, inconsistent, and wobbly in the turns, but he sure didn't have any chicken strips. Mine sit very consistently at about 1/4 to 3/8" on both sides, and never move. But as I get faster, I notice the rubber next to the strip getting more and more shagged. It's just that I don't use the whole tire.

Yes on the street and no on the track. Can we get that as a poll choice?
I actually can't stand the comparison of "chicken strips" as it gives newer riders undo pressure to push lean angle especially on the street, because really, no one on the track gives a $hit.
I've read over 20 RIP threads in the first 4 months of this year alone. A lot of them are due to excess speed (for street conditions) in a turn/twistie. I bet I know what some of those riders thought about chicken strips.
I know this is a joke thread, but I can't help that newer riders take some of this to heart, and really try to scrub the edge of their tire to not be heckled or judged by friends/others at the local starbux, or 4corners, etc.
I'm actually proud of my chickenstrips on the street because I'm too old (34) to be putting myself into any danger/pain/death, and to be quite honest, most faster track riders ride slower on the street because being "fast" on the street is no where close to "fast" on the track, and just loses its luster for me...plus I'd rather focus on being "smooth" in both scenarios.
Anyone seriously comparing chicken strips doesn't understand riding in my perspective.
Sorry for the rant, i've actually been thinking of this lately as we've all seen the RIP threads, and this is the second thread that i've come across about chicken strips, and I can't keep quiet.

Yes on the street and no on the track. Can we get that as a poll choice?
I actually can't stand the comparison of "chicken strips" as it gives newer riders undo pressure to push lean angle especially on the street, because really, no one on the track gives a $hit.

yeah....
a belt sander would work..
lulz
i do have what looks like a chicken strip..
but only because when it's over that far im grinding my center stand
im contemplating removing the centerstand, and only keeping the standard kick
but then again it's SOO easy to remove the tires and work on it with the center (instead of busting out a milkcrate)
i really should get a bike jack

not sure about times with a clean lap cause i didnt have my own lap timer last time.
i borrowed one for a session and the best lap i got in was a 2:06 but had slow traffic in 3 turns (5/6,10, 14). also i never used a timer so i had no idea wtf i was doing.. apparently the memory was full so it only recorded 3 laps.

I'm not even going to bother posting my tires. I have chicken strips, hell my tires are squared off. I'm not ashamed of it, quite the contrary. I know my limits, and I ride within my comfort zone. Also, my cruiser tends to drag parts past a certain lean angle.
thats because you are slow, squid. Draggin knee in jeans, tsk tsk
Um, I'm no expert, but don't you have to be going pretty fast to get that kind of lean angle?
Well, I guess aerodynamic speed hump on the Alpinestars MX-1 suit will serve purpose on the freeway: http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4369496&postcount=40
newsflash: posing is not cool, unless you put your riding where your mouth is.
So, it's only ok with you to buy top-end gear if you are dragging knee (or is is peg?) on Highway 9? So I guess I'm a super-squid for choosing to ride my cruiser with full armor, including a full-face lid, armored race gloves and a Dainese spine protector. It doesn't matter how fast you are going when you go down, without gear you are fucked.
To me this sounds like envy. Are you seriously bashing someone for wearing gear that's too good?
Insecurity = Posers
Example - "I'm slow but I promote myself by owning a 1098 and purchasing a top-of-the-line full suit with speed hump. "
^This example right here pertains to insecurity^^
Odd, I don't think that's insecurity, I call that chasing the dream. If he always wanted that bike then I'm glad he bought it. I'm also glad he rides it instead of having it sit in some rich kid's garage so he can polish it and never let it see the road. I wish I was so lucky - no that's not right. Luck had nothing to do with him owning that bike. He worked his ass off to get it.
Simply owning something is not about insecurity. I have never once heard Desmo talk about him being fast. In fact, quite the contrary is true; in all the times I have spoken to him online or in person he has been extremely modest about his ability. Unlike some internet-tough-guys, he is completely up front about what he wants to work on, and it's more than just erasing a chicken strip. An insecure man would say nothing about his shortcomings and speak at great length about his virtues. A secure man would be humble about his abilities and open about areas that need improvement. So which one is insecure again?
If boasting and being an e-tough guy is the mark of insecurity, I recommend you look no further than the closest mirror.

Chicken strips? Seriously? Here's the deal: all it means on the street is that you <could> be carrying far too much lean angle for the speed being run...meaning a rider has run risk with not the corresponding reward. Not trying to offend...but this is all kinda gay...

I'm not even going to bother posting my tires. I have chicken strips, hell my tires are squared off. I'm not ashamed of it, quite the contrary. I know my limits, and I ride within my comfort zone. Also, my cruiser tends to drag parts past a certain lean angle.
Um, I'm no expert, but don't you have to be going pretty fast to get that kind of lean angle?
So, it's only ok with you to buy top-end gear if you are dragging knee (or is is peg?) on Highway 9? So I guess I'm a super-squid for choosing to ride my cruiser with full armor, including a full-face lid, armored race gloves and a Dainese spine protector. It doesn't matter how fast you are going when you go down, without gear you are fucked.
To me this sounds like envy. Are you seriously bashing someone for wearing gear that's too good?
:applause Couldnt have said it better :thumbup To mr Hghwy_Nine_Rydr, how did you learn to come up wit all these crazyass conclusions and reasoning???? Home schooled perhaps?
not that theres anything wrong wit all home schoolers :teeth

Can't kill the chicken strips on the 250 without dragging hard parts first. Then again - these are bias ply tires and you'd have to be achieving an impossibly stupid lean angle to get all the way to the edges of them anyway... The bike would be long gone and sliding sideways down the road before that would happen. I don't worry about it ;)

Chicken strips? I prefer stripped chicken. I did this to my tire on 84 in Woodside / La Honda. I KNOW I KNOW, not the most impressive tire you have ever seen but thats as fast as street riding gets. I have never been on the track and I never have Chicken Strips on my tires front or back :teeth

:laughing I think this thread is meant to be stupid. Not many, other than ones who got banned that posted on this thread actually take it seriously. I mean, c'mon m8, it's posted by G-force. He's the king of silly, non-sense poll threads.:p

Are chicken strips really that important?:x So if u have huge strips on your tires does that make u a bad rider? :p I never really fully understood why people make a big deal about a strip of unused tire.:|

Obviously the less chicken strips there are on a set of tires is a way to subtly compare penis sizes. Naturally the less strip, the larger a mans package. And for women it's how tight the vag is.
*And wommenz with no chicken strips PM me. :twofinger

But then we won't have people rushing out to their driveways trying to scuff up their pucks by hand and posting pictures of it afterwards! :( Now that would be entertaining! :laughing
