so I bought this Ex race bike with the fork and swingarm mod already done. My question is when I want to upgrade the shock what are my options?
I dont know what size or model bike to look for when shopping.
any thoughts?

I think you'll have to take measurements of the shock that is in there now and find one that is similar or same in dimensions.

Unless you know what swingarm(type and year) was used, then perhaps someone might know part numbers.

I had very good results with a penske on my Production Twins EX500 in the LRRS (think AFM 250 prod, but with ex500s). Find out where your rear suspension came from so that Penske can match up the lower clevis (if the linkage isn't EX).

I usually prefer to deal with Traxxion, but most shops nearby (aftershocks/LE) can help too.

Good luck! -Matt

photo made me scairt to answer. penske has one, I have sold em. not cheap though. What swing arm mod? could make a huge difference in shock specs. if you have a shock of correct dimensions/length in there, should measure it up first.

i have the ZX 6 swingarm in there now. I was thinking of just getting it reworked for now, Dont feel like dropping a ton of $ on a shock before actually riding the thing first....
how much is it to revalve and re spring one of those things

what shock is on there? i would need free sag and rider on sag numbers to determine spring, then I could figure some valving, but cant quote til I know what shock.
thx jim l
