I need to get a chain and have someone install it for me.

I bought the bike used and i don't know what size rear sprocket i have, but i want to keep it. My chain will be due to change in a few 100miles (soon!).

Where do you shop for your chain? Where do you get it installed - if not yourself? What chain do you recommend?

I have 2001 F4i!

Thanks

talk with sonny, ak fawndog. he'll get you a decent price. other places in sf that'll have what you need are werk-statt, scuderia west, sf moto. get steel sprockets. i usually put mine on myself :p

Well, if you can, youre going to want to switch out your chain and sprockets at the same time. The wore-in grooves of the old sprocket would wear-out a new chain faster than normal.

Ive always used DID x-ring chains, but I hear RK are really good as well.

A fellow Barfer runs a mail order company.
PM Fawndog or go to www.sonnyengineering.net (thats his company)

as far as installation, Elskipador is great, and so is Alan at sportbikes dynamics. (Alanrider7 on Barf)

By the way, your sprocket will say how many teeth it is, somewhere on the face of it.

Ok, i have 520 DID chain with 46 Teeth.

Alan is good, but it usually takes him 2 to 4 weeks to get back to his customers...

Shawn, would you help me out with the installation? When do you have time?
