the 2005 Kawasaki ZX6R 636 Cal model and the 49 state mod? just wondering, Veary close to picking up a non ca mod. for a great price
but in your opiinion what would be a good OTD price for this bike be. just wondering before I post up how much. so I dont look like a ass you see.:laughing

Thanks Dan.

As far as I know, one of the differences is the emissions control equipment. Certain elements of the engine recirculate some of the air and fuel in order to reuse it, as well as having extra filtering on the bike. I don't know what else there is, but the 49 staters are lighter and supposedly have a little more horsepower.

Thnks, the otd price on the 05 is gonna run me $8k is that a worthwile price for this bike? suposidly it has 130hp at the crank which blew my mind away:wow, so good price or can I do better? or haggle more. I dont have any tax up in Oregon and reg and title fees are onley $118 then $32 for 2 years after that.

Thanks Guys I will be callin back to the shop tomorrow if it turns out to be the best price you think I could get, anybody work at a shop that can do better?

the color scheme is Flat Stoic Black, Metallic Raw Titanium

I think it is the case that most production bikes will have a lower OTD price in oregon. Sales tax aside, there are differences in supply and demand as well.

There have been a few (heated) threads lately about avoiding the 7500 mile rule. You might want to do a search to see some of the opinions and experiences of others who have bought out of state.

One more time for people in the cheap seats. There is no current provision for mileage. There might have been, but no longer.

Here's the rundown:

If the vehicle was purchased in another state prior to Oct. 1, 2004, you must own it for 90 days to avoid paying California sales tax.

If the vehicle was purchased in another state after Oct. 1, 2004, and you have owned it less than one year (duh, it's not Oct 2005 yet), you must pay the difference in vehicle sales tax to California.

ex: Vehicle purchased in Dec, 2004 in Virginia (5% sales tax). When you register the vehicle in California, you must pay 3.5% sales tax (8.5% California - 5% Virginia = 3.5%) of the purchase price to California DMV.

Yeah, maybe 130hp at the crank, which means all of nothing. Do you know exactly how much hp you lose though drivetrain to say if that is + or - 2hp over another bike? Besides, manufactures are always a bit optimistic about their hp numbers, it sells bikes.

instead, you should buy a 2003. They are just as fast and better looking. If you can find a blue one, you should jump on it. Especially if it only has 8500 miles on it and the first servide/tune-up was just performed.

I hear the FMF pipe sounds great on them, and the corbin seat really makes a difference. PM me, I'll help you find one like that.
