I got an r6 a month ago. 2001 (carbs), 49 state. At first, the bike stutered in the 14,000 range for about 500 rpms. Anways, I never minded it much since i'm never in that range. (has 16,000 miles, and I have put about 600 miles with no problems. It also use to try to start on the first try, but always failed, then another tap of the botton it would fire up.
Now the bike has to be cranked for a while, and doesn't even attempt to fire on the first second of pressing the starter botton. It takes many cranks and giving a lil bit of gas to start. While riding it around 4-6k rpm, it had a much deeper sound, but seemed like it lost a shit load of power. When in first gear and trying to take off, it stuters all the way to 6k rpm.
I hope this is enough of an explaination on what is happening. I'm pretty handy as a mechanic, but I have no idea how these new bikes work or their symptoms. anybody have some advice on where to start? Could it be that the carbs are off sync? Any and All advice will be seriously welcomed. Thanks all.
