Well I finally gave in and did the almost unthinkable..... I bought a Buell S1 Lightning. I have always thought that they were super cool looking and actually have this one running really well after some rejetting and tuning.

Since this pic, I have replaced the air filter setup with a Forcewinder set up and have added some more CF bits that I bought for cheap off of Craigs list. I have also ordered a CF tailpiece from Airtech, (stock one is cracked) if the bastards can ever get it done.

This bike is super fun to ride, it seems that someone forgot to let it know that Harley powered bikes can't turn or stop, or do massive wheelies.

As long as it doesn't grenade the motor or something, its a keeper.:teeth

is that swing arm extended or what?
sweet lookin bike, I have alway's loved the way they look and to hear one at 7k is just nuts.

Nope the swinger is stock as far as I know. It has a Sudco slip on on it on it and sounds wicked, but it redlines at a mere 6200.--Rob

It was Beau's bike at one point. I bought it from the guy who bought it from him.

S1's are getting very hard to come by these days.

I've always had a slight attraction to Buells.

Check into www.sacborg.com buell site from waaaayyy back and owned by a BARF'er.

I like Buells cause they're different, I considered buying an X1.

soory thinking of the new XB's they rev a little higer than the older versions that were true Harly sportster engine's.

Yeah, the redline on that thing won't be anything like an inline 4 600 or anything crazy like that. Congrats on the new bike

Might wanna get a "my other bike's a CBR, i swear!" sticker or something so that some random riders don't flip you off or anything :laughing

A Buell is a great idea for a motorcycle. ;)

Yours looks great. I've been tempted by an XB12S myself on a few occasions. Keep it upright!

I don't know why people bag on Buells cos they got Harley motors in.

The damn things are built to do one thing, and that is ride twisty roads and city streets like a madman.

They've not got a high-enough rev range to take on I-4's in a drag race, but hell, who really wants to go 170+ on a straight anyway? It's like the company slogan says - Own The Corners.

And yah, they do look like somone stuffed a literbike motor into a 2-fiddy frame....
