I ride a CBR600F4...I dont race yet but plan to next year.

Ive only been to T-Hill one time. I ran 2:17s consistently. Hoping to get down to at least 2:15s this weekend.

At Buttonwillow I ran 2:13s consistently with Mazda turn which is good for around 2:05s on the AFM course. Ive been there alot more times than T-Hill and it shows.

Dont know my times anywhere else....

My friend Dan Jones is one of the top 125 riders and he has touched 2 flat. If your friend is running 57s then he should be in Fomula Pacific and carrying the number one spot in 125gp and carry a top ten AFM plate.

As for running laps on people, I doubt he lapped someone more than once in a session. Why, because 30min session running 1:57 and slow rider like myself running 2:06 he would only be getting 9 seconds a lap faster which means it would take him about 15 laps to just lap me once. This would mean he might lap me in one session.

I run with Ken Hill and have seen Mike Raab on the track and they both cant even lap me twice in one session.

A friend of mine and my "mechanic" jeff greene runs 1:57s at thill on his 125cc gp bike during his good days. At thill in august, I watched him run laps around guys on r1s / gsxr1000s in the A group.

I cant imagine what he can do nowadays on a bigger cc bike.

WTF, 1:57 on a 125 at T-hill??? :confused U sure?? Does he have a fuckin jet rocket on his back? lol If thats right, he should be AMA by now....

Heck, Vicky Jackson-Bell was just into the 1:59's when she raced at Thunderhill a few years ago. She's as fast as anybody in the U.S. on 125cc GP machinery.

None of you remember, or you were not racing yet. T-hill was a lot shorter back in 1996-ish. After turn 8 (AFM Numbers) it would take you right back to the front straight. Only eight turns back then.

With my current Super-Sport SV650 I can do these times:
1:43.XX at Sears Point (AMA config)
2:03.XX at T-hill (Long)
2:00.xx at Buttonwillow
1:42.xx at Laguna (AMA national pro thunder)

I really do not remember the WIllowsprings stuff. Not fast, I know that.

What's with all the "deleted"? :confused

My best time, Thunderhill... is 2:45. I hit a lot of traffic that day, I think I could do better.

The drive home was less congested and I made it in 2 hrs 35 min. :twofinger

Historical note:

Actually I was racing back then and a 1:57 would have been pretty slow for a 125. The track record was 1:15 by none other than Colin Edwards on the YZF750. Brian Lefeve(?) had the AFM record for a while at a low 1:17 on a TZ250. I was able to get my little 650 around in the mid 1:19s.

My buddy was really active with the Rabbit Cup back at the time. Whenever we talk about Thunderhill I always forget that turn 7 was the last turn we have in common. Oh yeah, they ran that track so much they got bored with the "standard" and opted to run it clockwise on occassion. Apparently the Cyclone, when run in reverse, is called the Widow Maker and the drop coming over the crest was enough to break a control arm once.

Just got back from a 2 day session at T-Hill. I managed to log in a 2:09:70, this was right after I drank a Red Bull :teeth Could not repeat that and ran 2:12s the rest of the time.

BTW, never knew Colin Edwards rode at T-Hill. What was the series? Cool!

What do you think Rossi would do at T-Hill on his RC211-V? After 2 days of riding, I bet he would be doing sub 1:50s...you think? I bet Nicky would be logging in around 1:51s, since F-Pac best times are in the 1:53s. And keep in mind the F-Pac guys are vets of T-Hill for many years, whereas Rossi and Hayden would just be going on raw skills and machinery advantages.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm........................WITH tire warmers..................AND drafting that rocket that "Holeshot" rides I might be able to get under 2flat at T-hill............

AS long as I didn't try to pass on the OUTSIDE of turn 2!!!!

NOTE: even if you KNOW you're faster than the guy you're behind goin' into 2............DO NOT try to drive around the waaaay outside!!!
The TRACTION SUCKS OUT THERE!!!

AND............those sticker bushes get allll stuck up in your leathers!!!

PLUS.............even if you DO find a big ol' rock to lean your no sidestand bike against.................
It's gonna FALL OVER by the time you walk away from it!! lol:) :)
