Tire Preference??

alright people,
im looking for new tires-
im really looking at getting the michelin pilot powers-
any pros, cons from anyone? maybe current opinions?
-im looking for sticky street/weekend carving tires.

The Pilot Powers are a sweet new tire. They have an all new synthetic rubber formulation that feels really soft to the touch. When my BT014's were done I switched to the Powers. The BT014's felt good but somehow the Powers feel even better. I have not yet seen a any used Powers come into the shop worn out so I don't know how they wear but the marketing department info says they wear about the same as similar sportbike tires (3-4k miles).

The only input I can give you is from on track observation, and you said you were after sport sreet tires, so this may not really matter. But....

The last time I was at WSIR there was another fella on a ZX10R with Pilot Powers. I use Diablo Corsa's. On nearly every corner the guy was drifting quite a bit. I was on his butt more than once, especially on corner exits, so I know my speed was very similar. I felt no drift from the DC's except for one intentional spin-up towards the end of the day just to see how well they would stick. I've put 3 track days on them so far and can say they wear pretty well and have GREAT traction on track and on street. But, I have never personally used any Michelin tire. Just the sight of the drifting was enough to turn me off of the Powers. Just my opinion.

Diablo Corsa's stomp. Decent street tire decent track tire. All track, Rennsports are better.

Regular Diablos are, in my exp. better than the M-1s. Never tried the Pilot Powers.

hey supertire guy- i might drop by the shop to have mine fitted- but im still not sure :S i think im just going to go with the powers....
before the new bike all i used where 208gp's which obviously sucked in the city and rain but where bliss when carving, right know im on my stock bt12- i need them out as soon as i get the money. - any specials at subterranean? :P thought i might ask
