I had my suspension setup by my buddy who races in german supersport. Basically the zx6r 636 stock suspension components are absolute ass for street or canyon riding. Its awesome on a smooth race track surface - but even those are becoming a rareity.

My friend basically made sure that front forks and rear shock were compressing and rebounding at the same rate - the suspension traveled in together not front or back moving faster than the other. Regarding weight, that's pretty much pointless, you can take out all the preload for me (145 lbs) and it wouldn't do squat. I had the forks redone at racetech but not the rear, that helped a little but it was still shaking me apart the minute i hit a bumpy section. If you can afford it toss in any rear aftermarket shock and send your forks to Stig @ PPS Tuning

i also dropped the triple clamp 5 mm and tacked on a 5mm spacer. When the rain clears up i'll go check out my compression, rebound and preload settings.

here are the settings I have, all adjustments are made from FULL SOFT

Forks:
4 lines of preload
6 clicks of comp.
6 clicks of rebound
5mm triple clamp drop

Shock:
2 1/4 turns comp
1 1/2 turns rebound
Preload 7 lines
additional kawasaki spacer

Steering Damper Scotts:
8 clicks in for street
2 turns for canyon/track
