you don't *need* one but it'll help smoothen out your throttle. your ECU will not compensate for any mods ya do. the PCs trick your ECU into pumping more fuel into the bike and richen up the f/a mixture.

if you put on a full system or even a very good slipon, it would benefit you to get one. full system, you definitely need to remap your bike cause the lessened backpressure will lean out your bike. :D

A stock 02R1 has the best FI out there and doesn't need anything. If you happen to get a Full system latter on, pick up a PC IIIr also. That way you won't have any dips in the powerband.
