Anybody ever use the Yoshimura ignition box on their S model??
I hooked mine up and the bike sputters just past mid range. Like its on a rev limiter. Hooked up the stock ignition and it goes away.:wtf
Also just installed a 440 kit ,FCR carb, and hot cams.

I'm guessing you got a blurp as you were aproximatly mid throttle. Since the rev box is designed for the E model, you have to clip the green wire on the larger plug. Its the ground wire for your clutch and kickstand switch.

I'd be currious to see how the 440 kit runs. My roomates and I are running the Yosh 450 in ours.

I only supermoto mine. not sure how it is in the dirt yet but the bottom end power is retarded now. I did clip the green wire and still had the cutt out issue. Thanks for the help though.

We rode all day yesterday and it ran great. I wish I had the extra revs of the yosh box.:confused

damn... you know what. I was out riding yesterday and that hesitation is still there for mine too. I'm going to swap rev boxes with my roomate. He has the older version and no problems. There may be something else we need to do... that or yosh kicked out a bad batch of boxes.

Evreytime I call or deal with Yoshimura in cal they are so F*^(ked up to talk to, I wont even bother. Just sending back to my parts guy to deal with. I cant believe a big company like that can have the worst customer service. I had the exact same experience with them on rear sets for my GSXR1.

From the experiences I've had with them they've been really good. I'm going in today to send back or find out the problem with those boxes. Hang onto it for another daay just incase we're missing something.

We tossed in an older rev box.... it ran like a raped date and didn't studder at all. Toss the new one in another DR and it raised hell.

Right on! Please let me know. I know there is more power available with all the upgrades I did.
Could it be that the ignition is advancing to far and causing an issue with my jetting? Im not sure my jetting is right yet.

jetting or not. the box ran like crap on a completly seperate bike.

With our carbs I'm pretty sure we're running a little bit rich. We're running the carb how it ws delivered. I know it has a 165 main, and a 32 and a 40 for the idle and accelrator pump jets. which one is which slips my mind right now.

But yea... I'm gonna get the word in an hour or so and will let you know ASAP.

Right on!! Apreciate the help. I thought jetting was wrong due to the popping I am getting when engine braking. I am running the FCR out of the box too.

ok... from the guy at Yosh... apparently there is a batch of rev boxes that have this malfunction. Just send it back with a description of the problem and they'll test it... see if they can repair it or just send you a new one.

As far as jetting... I know ours aren't tuned perfectly either. We're trying to get ahold of some dyno'd settings.. but for now it runs alrightwhile we iron out any of the wrinkles like this rev box.
