how much do most riders rejet their two strokes after break in im running motul synth at 50 to 1 as recomended by the dealer suzuki recomends 32 to 1.
according to the manual my rm 250 should have a 162 mainjet i'm thinking of trying a 160 and maybe drop the needle one notch.
dam that motul is $14 a quart I couldnt afford to use that at 31 to 1.

ouch I get my motul at cycle gear 9.95 qt.
Are you running rich? Do a plug chop next time you're out and check to see how she's runnin before guessin at jetting changes. Just a thought.

Changing your mix ratio is the same as changing your jetting.
Oil makes the fuel thicker. More oil = leaner as less fule can pass thru the jet. Picture running water thru a hose and slowly start adding dirt. And conversely, less oil makes it run richer.

I suggest you return to the stock ratio and start your jetting experiments there. Also, try contacting pro-circuit or FMF and get their recommended settings. This is usually a good and sfae way to get started.

i'm definitly going to start buying the motul at cycle gear I didnt notice it at my local store last visit. the bike is definitly running rich and the 50 to 1 mix is richining it even more. I havent been able to ride it hard enough yet to get a decent reading on the plug. i had a 23 year layoff on the dirt bikes so the bike is working well the rider needs to get in better condition to ride the bike closer to its capability. basiclly im getting much arm pump
making it hard to ride at a decent speed for long. i figure the only way to get into riding shape besides the normal stuff weight training and bicycling is too ride more. getting old is some what irritating but it beats the alternative.
