Cash to enter one youth $ 130

Length of delay to race start: 1 hr 40 min

Depth of river separating you from the registration table. Aprox 3 feet. We didn't plan on going swiming.

Watching u'r child disappear for 40 mins on dagerous terain: Unbearable.

The sight of a mile wide smile on a mudd covered face of an exhausted kid: Worth every penny and pain.

It was fun overall, but the roosters don't run a very organized event. Just about everyone I had to deal with had problems doing their job.

I decided not to ride on Sunday because I don't need the stress.

I'll post the pic's as soon as I can. I've got to shrink them first.

that was the worst part of that race for me, watching my son race his first race on a 2 stroke 85 (moving up from an xr80...BIG jump) and having no idea how he's doing and sitting at the exit of the canyon waiting to see if he's going to come out or not.

In my limited experience, I don't believe I've ever seen a scramble go off on time? Whether it be the mini's (50's) the youth or the adults?

Wow by reading this I would have thought that I had written it myself. My son was in the begginer 4 stroke for his first race ever on an XR70. I was nervous as all hell. Everything was delayed which added to my stress since my wife couldn't join me and I was worrying about my son while entertaining my daughter. When the gun went off for my sons line I swear I almost welped up and every hair on my body stuck up and the worries started. I did the same thing as you and waited at the checkpoint hoping and praying to see my son come by. Finally I did and every time he rode by my heart actually started beating again for a few seconds and then would stop again once he left my sight. He finished the race (thank god) and was exhausted. The best part of the whole weekend though was after I crashed out of the Sunday race (Long story) I checked the standings and the little man came in second 10 minutes behind first and 20 some odd minutes in front of 3rd. Talk about the proudest dad in the whole world words can't explain. The organization was completely unorganized as everyone allready knew but without them my son would have never walked away with a 2 foot tall trophy. :):thumbup
