Yep, was smogged just over a year ago. He just got a new/used car & let the registration lapse as it's been sitting since ~Dec. He drove it a couple days ago; & has started it ~bi-weekly since Dec. to keep the battery up & FI clear....
Seems to run good & start every time. I haven't driven it, but he says everythings fine except the above mentioned items...

ok, will try to get that info from my roomie when he gets home from work tonight.
One BARF'er looked at it; pointed out it's making top end noise I hadn't noticed before (tappet noise.) He passed on the deal & I can't blame him. Its also got a loose fan belt that squeals we noticed. But hey, it starts right up...:)
To me, a $400 car...if it runs...it's worth that much. Blue book is about $1K I think....

Well since I am getting this for my mother in law, I don't know if I want something she will bitch about when it takes a dump. Sounds like a good deal to me tho. Hell I had an 81' Rabbit and could pull the motor in a couple of hours.
For me the only thing I'm concerned about is the back DMV charges.

I think pic and pull will give up to $650 for older cars it's a state program to get them off the street.
