I had no luck when looking into one for my CR500 Kart. I had to push start (or pull start with xr50).

How did the kart work out for you overall?

Only thing Im really worried about is the vibration.......

Love to see some pics/hear some stories about it :)

Yeah it was cool, It did vibrate like crazy. I got bored with it after a little. I never could get it to run right with my home made pipe. So I sold it and made a couple grand.

That thing looks just like what I had in mind :)

What kinda problems did you have with her tuning wise?

Ive got an FMF fatty expansion chamber I was hoping to get modified or modify slightly to mount up to some kind of custom silencer.

Any hint of wheel spin even in its state when u ran it?

It just would not rev out at all. I took my fmf pipe and cut it up and put it back together so it would fit on the kart. I think I needed the chamber to be closer to the engine. It would spin the tires a little but not like it should of. It would always die when doing doughnuts. It was still fast! It was hard to breath when on the throttle. Oh and it was hard to start since all I had was pushing it. That and no real good place to ride it was why I got tired of it.

I fall into the same category JoeBar to many toys not enuf time :)

Thanks for the info Ben, Im taking the engine off the kart tonight, and slapping the cr500 in it so I can start the process of alignment/measurements. The pipe and the radiator are the only thing that concern me :) The kart I have is also a belt drive so Ill need to see if I can dig up some old sprockets :)

Im thinking it would be a blast around the big track at sears if I could get it out there :)

Hi. Still got yor monster kart? I am just in the process of putting mine together.A couple of dumb questions. How did you get the fuel to travel from the tank to the carb. The CR500 has a float bowl carb and not a pumper. How did you make out with routing the exhaust pipe? Did you put any rubber in the motor mount system?
How have you made out finding a place to run it. Our local club is frowning on the idea and think that I have some sort of death wish for building this kart. I have told them that I will not just be installing a toggle switch for the throttle but will have a normal gas peddle and can adjust the power as required. I just don't see the point in wringing out a little 125cc that is on the edge of destruction always when you can install a proper sized engine and always have a surplus of power available. I am trying to drum up some interest in a masters unlimited class here in Chilliwack ( near Vancouver). Did you find a place to run yours? Cheers Tom

I know a guy that races his cart at Sears and he has a CR500 motor in his cart.
He is capable of making his own pipe but this guy will make you a performance pipe.

He had the motor bluprinted/balanced and uses the cr250 electronics because the 250 elec.lets the motor tach higher.
