Looking for help from anyone with good knowledge (Mike, Winders, Dave, Budman, Shawn, anyone else) On how to help set my bike up so that I can get a better drive out of the corners at T-hill.
It does it at Sears, but it's much more pronounces at T-Hill. I have a tearing condition on the left side, which Ken (Hill) says is somewhat normall for this time of year. But, I am unable to get a good drive out of T1, T6, T9 and T14.
The tire tends to spin up and the bike has not much forward motion at that point.
What do you guys suggest for suspension changes? I'm running 750 wheels, Circuit 1 front end, a Penske 8100 rear and Supercorsa tires.
Thanks in advance

Hole shot---welcome to the club---Scott saw my Rennsports---same radical tearing issue-I am running RS2 rr---I almost lost it on the exit of 1 at over 100---when the tearing kind of went catostophic-I have a call into Metzler---me will talk next week-according to them---they can tell me what "I" am doing wrong---(besides running Rennsports)---I tried backing off the rebound---seems like it got worse

In very general terms, stiffening up the back will cause more wheelspin, softening it will cause more grip. If your sag is already set right, leave the spring alone. Try reducing compression a notch & try it...

"Supercorsa" I've had the same problem everytime I've had to run them on a liter-sized bike. (GSXR-1k and R1) They seem to work fine for me on a R6, but I think you've progressed past what they're capable of giving.
**Personal opinion: I think Pirelli/Metzler is a great novice/trackday rider tire, cheap and heat-up quickly. Unless your last name is Stanton your losing time on your drives. It will make you feel like Haga but it gives you a false sense of speed.
Take it for what it's worth

So what tire are you running now on your liter bikes----BTW---Roadrider uses these on their race bikes with pretty decent success

In my case Michelin. Most use Dunlops. Who rides for Roadrider?

How is the S2F/M2R Michelins combo compared to the SC1F/SC2R Pirelli on a litre bike???

The most discernable difference to me is sidewall stiffness. The S2 front is the best front for my riding style and bike. The Pirelli front rolls around too much for my taste, the 208 is a great intermediate and the S2 is can handle the extra load and entry speed.
The P/M rear is fine for a couple sprint races but loses traction quickly. For the GSXR-1k we ran for the 4-hour race at Sears a "Medium" (I don't know their color codes) it would last about 30 mins before it would just spin up out of T6, T7 & T11. My co-rider/bike owner likes them, but I felt I could have gone at least 2-seconds quicker on the Michelins.
For a R1 we would only get a three sessions in during our W/E testing before it just shave the tire. The P/M option was abandoned for Dunlop.
Don't get me wrong P/M makes a great tires, obviously they won the WSS championship, but it doesn't stand up well to multiple trackdays. I've heard the same "Cold-tearing" reports at T-Hill for riders on SVs, ZX-6rs to GSXR-1ks. It doesn't appear to hold up well on tracks where it’s on its side for a long time. I don't frequent Willow, but I would imagine the condition is even worse there.
I'm not the fastest Michelin rider and the tire looks great with no tearing.
The current set of S2/M2s on my bike have:
1- Sunday morning practice (Sears)
1- Open Production race (Sears)
1- Formula Pacific race (Sears)
1- Full SSA trackday (T-Hill)
3- CCS morning practice sessions (T-Hill)
1- CCS 30 minute GTO race
If anyone is interested I have about 4 sets of S2/M2s take-offs for sale if want to give them a try.

Thanks Shawn.
Scott,
I'm running an 01' GSX-R1000. The front end has had the tubes lengthened by circuit one. I'm running them flush with the triple. The spring rate is .95's. I weight 165. The rear is a 400 series spring (Traxxion set the shock for my weight, so they claim). The Penske is at its full length which I'm unsure is how much more than stock. Even at its full length, it would be nice to have more rear ride height. In the last AFM event, I ran 2:03's on the G1K. That was my first race ever on the bike with little setup, so I think I've gotten faster since then. Sears, I run high 1:41's, low 42's on it.
That's about all the info I can give at current. Thanks in advance.

Scott,
I ran 35MM Sag front and 28MM rear on Sunday. The tearing went away, but I went up 1lb in the rear and the heat was also greater by about 10 degrees. I think the heat helped alot.
Thanks for the suggestions. I'll keep bugging you in the future if you don't mind.
