Tach mount for my SV

has anyone ever fabricated their own tach mount for their racebike? i'm replacing my stock cluster with a spa and fabricating the mount out of some sheet steel. the tach calls for a 3 inch hole to be cut, and that's a pretty damn big hole. thoughts on making it or other options?

Check out www.brgracing.com. KC makes a carbon fiber dashboard. I have mounted a SPA tach and a MyChron on it and it works good. I can't remember what he charges for it, but I think it is around $50 which is pretty expensive for a peice of carbon. But if you don't mind spending the money, it will save a bunch of time and works good...

I made a template of the size dashboard and hole requirements, took it to Tap Plastic and for 15 bucks had my dash made.
