Did a search. Couldn't find anything on "west nile virus" as far as computers are concerned.

From what you describe, it sounds like you might have a virus...
Symantec has a free online virus scanner you could try...
Symantec Online Virus Scanning (http://security3.norton.com/ssc/home.asp?j=1&langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=22&pkj=AOIEPWFYJOKMFIDPMSV)

John,
A little computer penecillin should clear that right up. ;)
If the on-line thing doesn't work out for you, I might know a guy who knows a guy who could get you a copy of VirusScan or NAV.

Beware, its VERY easy to forge e-mail headers and many viruses do just that. If you don't believe me I can arrange gbush@whitehouse.gov to give you a message ;)

BTW, how the jam session go on Wednesday nite...and when do we BARFers get the honor of coming by when you play...?:cool
No prob. :cool
The jam didn't materialize . . . I went out there at what I tought was a reasonable time and the place was closed. :mad Well, it looks like next Wednesday (and those that follow), I'll be able to make both the jam and BARF night, so there is an upside.
I'll start advertising my gigs to my BARF-buds when I start to feel like I can keep my sh*t together on the job and not derail the music. Till then, I'm on the sly. :cool

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it pretty difficult to spoof the source IP? I know spoofing the address is a piece of cake, but there's usually a traceable IP addy that gets attached when the mail is sent from the SMTP server.

True, but then all you have is the address of an unsecured SMTP server....
You can trace most e-mails reliably but its difficult and you need cooperation of the sysadmin usually. You can always route e-mails out of country threw special servers and have it nearly traceproof but thats not so simple...

No doubt, and sysadmins are always more than happy to help you track down abusers on their networks. :rolleyes
