I have a pair of used Prexport 597 boots that are free to a new or newish rider who wants something more protective than whatever soft things you're riding in currently. These boots are well used -- they've low-sided a couple of times on the track, and have been my road and track boots for 6 or 7 years, but they have a lot of life left, and are much better than the hiking boots or tennis shoes you're wearing now.
Edit: they are 45s, which is about a size 11.5.
