Hi, my name is Marie. I am new to this site. Someone had referred me. My boyfriend and I recently bought a 2000 Yamaha R1. I cannot ride the bike but my boyfriend does. I just sit on the back and HANG ON.........love the feeling though. My addiction started on our vacation trip to Hawaii, we rented an R6 there and drove it around the whole island....Came back home and had to get my very own.

We're hoping to meet & make some new friends. Can anyone please direct me to where I can meet some riding friends in the San Francisco Bay Area? Thank you in advanced for your time.

Thank you EVERYONE for the warm welcome.....

Any good advice on insurance companies for the bike? Is it ok if I just get liability & uninsured? This is a WHOLE new world to me.

is WED meet from 4-9pm? I do not have the motorcycle yet but if I can get out of work in time, would it be ok to pop in to meet you guys? If not, I would like to drop by next wed. Is it always at the same place?

SF meets, we are trying to get a pre-meet eat gathering going at Hukilau's one block up from the regular spot which is Family Billiards. like 6-ish. yes, so far always the same meet spot and we hang out till around 10pm or so. the info is usually posted ahead of each meet in the social section.

y2000 bike I think I would still be getting full coverage, unless you guys are absolutely sure of not worrying about damage or theft. 3 years old is about when I start pulling coverage. or changing bikes :p

Max.. GEAR in Hawaii? HAHAHHAH :laughing When I was there this summer I couldn't BUH-lieve the squidliness in lack of gear. Gear requirements in Oahu....Flops, wife beater and shades :wow :instance :twofinger

das only fo' scooters. I serious kine rida' brah.
(well, most of the time) don't think you want run up tantalus or down the pali sans gear unless you only cruzzin'. trust me, it gonna' hurt :p mainland get barb wire, islands got... jagged LAVA ROCK ouch shredded!
