I've been to the last 5 WSBK races there, all 5 times sitting in the grandstands.

Unfortunately, I am too late to buy grandstand seating for GP's this year,
so I just wanted to know where is the best place to sit or watch the race from
outside of the grandstand seating areas. If I go the non-grandstand route
and bring some fold out chairs, how the hell do I see the race develop everywhere else
(read: what do you guys do?):confused

Last year I spent time at the corkscrew where you can take a short walk west of there to have somewhat of a panoramic view of the track from a hill. Also watching the riders sliding it out of the corkscrew preparing for the next turn was cool.

There are also huge video screens that show the action.

yeah, in front of the grandstands, but are there any outside of that? Just looking for clarification. Thanks

How about on your arse? Perhaps near Andretti hairpin.:laughing :laughing :laughing

Don't waste your time expecting to bring chairs and find good seating. There are going to be 100,000 other people doing the same thing. I went to the last GP and (with far fewer people) good seats were non existent. If you sit down, there will be people standing in front of you. Lots of them.

Makes me want to sell my Race Day tickets and Paddock Passes and just watch it on Speed.

I enjoy sitting on the hill by the first aid station where the first turn is located (I think). The walk to get there is not as far as trekking to the corkscrew but I think it provides a fairly good view.
BARFers in the past have been able to meet and greet and find each other all weekend and then spend energy and cunning to avoid each other as well! See you there possibly.
