Anyone know the status of Vincent Haskovec? His crash looked pretty bad (saw the impact). Hope he is alright!!!

Hope he recovers quickly.

I hope he recovers period! Man....
He hit the wall so hard going in head first.
I knew they were going to be dispatching the life flight even before he hit.

Best wishes to him and his family.

I understand he is well liked around the AMA circuit.

Vincent's a great guy and a helluva racer. my wife is always rooting for him because he (like her) is Czech. we wish him a full and speedy recovery.

it's unacceptable that racers in this country still have to risk hitting nearly unprotected concrete walls. :mad :mad

RRW said turn five tires and wall.. Did they mean turn six? Trying to recall tires and a wall at five and don't..

Nope, it was turn 5. On the exit, before you crest the hill going into 6.

Update from RRW:
"Hospital doctors have diagnosed him to have a punctured lung, broken ribs, broken clavicle and a back injury. Hopsital doctors list him in stable condition; he is awake and alert. Hospital doctors plan to perform surgery on Haskovec's back within the next two days, once swelling in the region subsides."

Definately shoot some good wishes over. I saw someone from his team cleaning up the #3 bike sunday. I was a bit scared to ask, but had to know about his status after watching him go into the tires the day before. He said exactly what was written about, and to keep the good wishes coming.

Best of luck to him on a strong recovery.

Best wishes to Vincent Haskovec and his family. It's to bad something like this has to happen for a track to react.

Agreed, tragically. When I broke my back at Loudon, they moved the wall that did it the following weekend. Hope he comes out well.

The pins are only there to support his back till they can fix the two virtabras / T6/ that was damage
The last check said that it appeared that there was no spinal cord damage

it's just a vaca for the guy. I'm sure he'll be back, solid as ever, soon.

Until then, just think how great he'll feel when he see's how many emails we've all sent in to him. Get at it guys.

Well it really sucks. I'd like for him to come back, but the nature of his injuries, well....... :(

If you all would really like to help prevent this from happening to you, or someone you care about, donate to the RoadracingWorld Action Fund!!! Also, you could buy some wrist bands from Indysuperbikes. http://www.indysuperbike.com/RW_Action_Fund.html

I had ordered mine two weeks ago. I'm thinking of ordering a bunch more just to give away...................

Hang in there Vincent :thumbup
