Fresh take-offs from Infineon Supersport practice. 15 slow laps on one set, 17 slower laps on the other.

These tires are nearly unobtainable at the moment. Don't ask why/how I got them as I barely made the grid, so if you look at my practice & Q times you'll know these take-offs have barely been scuffed (it wasn't the tires that made me go so slow..).

$250 per set or $450 for both sets, FIRM. Don't ask me for photos cuz I am too damn tired and I have to race tomorrow.

They are home in my garage, if you want 'em call me at 408-529-1190.

Skip,

You are right and you are wrong and I was not totally informative on what I have for sale.

Let me re-boot here:

I have 2 sets of Sportmax GP (as Dennis informs me that the marketing gurus have 'officially' termed them!) little-used DOT take offs.

Fronts are 950 (soft) compound, which I couldn't get my hands on all weekend long, even after Dennis said he thought you all had some available for the race. Rears are a 3136 (plus 1) compound, used to be called a 758 in the 208, which are readily available as you indicate.

I have been recommended by you guys to run 950 fronts and 758 rears for most local tracks. Funny thing, you didn't have ANY 950 front Spotmax's this past weekend, or so I was told. Since I wanted to stay with a soft front, I had no choice but to run the 208's for the race.

No sweat, the tires worked great anyway and you guys have offered great support and I appreciate the sponsorship. It was even interesting when someone mistakenly mounted a fresh 190 for me, I didn't even notice and had it already remounted to the bike for the race, then one of your crew came by my pit and said you all had made a mistake and could you have everything back and you'd bring me the wheel back to the pit with the proper 180 on it. I guess we all have our moments sometimes!

Anyway, the point is I have 2 sets of excellent condition Sportmax GP DOT's for sale, each set has the RARE, EXTREMELY HARD TO GET 950 Front soft compound.

That OK with you, Skip?

we packed alot of tires for that race, but it was also a WSMC weekend and we had a truck there as well, which had some of the stuff we could have used @ the AMA. its weird this year with the AMA's, last year the factory would supply all the stuff we used for everybody, but this year they're keeping sponsered guys and paying riders seperate. sometimes, like sears, it can be hard to get the exact tire you want because of this line between the "church and state".

i just talked with the guys @ sporttire and they confirmed they have limited amounts of the 950 front, for the moment. they also only have the 160/60 in the 758 compound right now. later in the year they'll have more selection, but for the moment the AMA riders get 1st choice.

OK, so El Skip the Tire God has set me straight and now I have the real story. Thx :)

The 950 (soft) front compound is hard to come by at this minute. In any event, the market price for these take-offs in good/great condition are somewhere between 180-200.

I'll sell mine for $175/set or $325 for both sets.

I've also got 2 sets of D208's from Saturday Qualifying/15 laps and Sunday race/16 laps. Q set is Soft 950 front & rear, Race set is 950 soft front and plus 1 758 rear. Both sets in good condition for $100/set or $180/both.

Thx, Berto, but you were the true stud. Congrats on a GREAT race and also getting a paycheck from the AMA!!! Also appreciate the little 'pull' on the back side in qualifying, even though I couldn't hang with you and subsequently blew the T9 chicane!!

Hey, as my wife said I shouldn't be so hard on myself, having made the grid and finished the race after not being on track for 7 months straight, no racing at all since Laguna last July, an all new bike and being another year older and WELL into my 40's and prolly past my prime...

..but watching guys like Berto & Ryan really getting fast makes me motivated to work harder to keep you guys in sight, at least. I think maybe I'll be at the track a little more frequently from here on out:)

Too bad there's not some kind of local club-racing scene where you coulda got some seat time a couple weeks prior to the AMA event. :laughing

Bump!

There is a local club, but those guys are way too fast for me. I'd rather just be a back marker to those AFM wanna be's like the brothers Hayden, and that Disalvo and Hacking dude.

But maybe I'll come play with the real fast guys at Infineon, now that I have a bike to ride.....;)
