I'd like to try and do the endurance race in august at sears. I'm a novice first year type and ran 1:51's at the last race may 1st. I'm sure I can drop a few seconds at sears between now and august as i have several days and another race weekend in between. I'll consider using my bike which is an 04 honda 600rr but whoever i team up with would have to split any damage which occurs during the race and maybe pay for tires and gas. This seems a fair arrangement given the wear and tear on the bike. I'm of course not looking to win or anything but would at least like to be respectable. Are average laptimes the same in an endurance race as a sprint? I think about 4 riders would be ideal giving about an hour of seat time per rider. Whats the ideal number of riders? Is there such a thing? geez what if noone answers?:laughing

The person who's bike it is should not be paying for gas, tires and entry fees for the 4hour.
1. No. Unless you plan to tire changes, the pace is slower by a few seconds (3-4, maybe more) a lap.
2. 3-4 riders is ideal.
that's odd. The people I know who ran the endurance race last year, myself included, split entry, tires, and gas. The only agreement was the bike owner would keep the trophy (and I just found out you could actually get more trophies if you asked...), and an effort would be made to put it back together if it was wrecked (although, I don't know if I would have gotten a TON of help if I would have been the one to wreck).
Maybe I should be looking for new teammates?
Oh, and since you're still improving drastically every race (like the rest of us novices), my guess is you'll be running faster than 51's, even at the endurance pace (remember, it's who finishes, not you runs the fastest lap).
