I know they made Sears safer than before. But my god, I have never seen so many helicopter flights in 1 day. And I was only there on Saturday. I hope everybody turns out ok. But please don't under estimate the dangers at Sears. This was a National and they have way more protection than us AFM guys. Soft barriers allover the place and way more hay bales. I know a lot of people like Sears and yes it is a fun track, but where do we finally draw the line for our saftey??? I would only like too visit Sears 2 times at the most on the AFM schedule just because the place is still really really dangerous!!!:(

I saw 3 in one day last year at an AFM event. How many were there on Saturday? The worst part is Haskovec's could have been eliminated now that the sewage ponds have been moved. Why didn't you race this weekend Timmy?

I would hate to limit sears to two stops a year. its the best track by far and the best pits. if there isn't enough hay bales for your liking, hay bales are $5 a bale. have everyone add $5 to the entry fees and get an extra 500 bales. then line the whole damn track wit em...

Perhaps people should visit laguna, after they are done with it. The track has to meet min. FIM standards -- though i dont know if they have made some concessions :confused Though, as one can expect there are def. some tracks that are safer than others, but dang.. when i see what there is in US, it is just scary shieeet :wow
Seems that racing at Cartagena, which is perhaps the worst ghetto track in spain (by far), it seems real good and safe in comparison..
Actually, Jarama is spain's oldest track, which the owners are some cheap azz mofos (www.race.es) and have done the very, very min. "upgrades" in a span of 35 years. Which means, ancient pit boxes and FAR less run-off than newer tracks. With this in mind, there are plenty of crashes during races, but there is never a life flight (well it is very close to madrid), and rarely is the ICU ambulance used (they usually have 3 reg. ambulance vans and one ICU unit). Not to say people dont get hurt, but it is because of the type of fall, not the track.
It does seem ironic that in the lawsuit happy america, that most track owners have not been sued to kingdom come. Considering that in spain, while such legal enviornment is non existant, the tracks are by FAR much safer. Almeria, the newest 100% privately funded track is a joy to ride (as it is tricky) and very, very safe to boot.:wow
