Where to practice?

Once I've gone through the MSF and have my M1, what are some good locations to practice, and get some seat time on my bike?

Any recommendations? Parking lots at night? Rural roads? Group rides with veteran leader/sweeper?

Parking lots are nice if you can find empty ones, bring some traffic cones too if you can.

Rural roads are nice too but road conditions may vary greatly from day to day. so, find a noce piece of road that you can ride over and over again without too much interference (peds, cages, on-lookers, etc.) and get used to practicing "good technique." Don't know what "good technique" is- then don't bother until you take an advanced MC course or something similar or get LOTS of miles down. Practicing bad technique hurts more than it helps.

Group riders seem like a good idea and place to learn from (watch) others and to share feedback.
