View Full Version : Transporting bikes
I was wondering how you load a bike onto a truck bed and what you need to tie it down or other ways to transport a bike from where you bought it to your house. The only experience I've had on bikes so far was in the MSF course and I'm not ready to ride a bike that I'm unfamiliar with on traffic.

You need: Ramp, Bungees, Canyon Dancer, Tie Down.
Take the ramp, put it angled on the tailgate. Take a couple bungees and hook them to the bumper, tow package, etc. so the ramop doest slide. Push the bike up with someone in the truck to catch it. Wrap the handlebars in the dancer, hook tie downs and your done

Here are some links that have info on loading bikes in trucks.
http://www.ehow.com/how_8532_transport-motorcycle.html
http://www.whybike.com/blog/index.php?p=16
http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Trailers.html
The last link was included as it has some good information, although it advocates that you can load the bike by yourself, which I do not recommend.
