I'm trying to get a little better at the track and I've been talking to everyone I can that’s better than me. So today I'm talking to a guy that has done some racing and he said that in corners where he has to hang way off his bike he hooks his outside boot under the rear set. Has anyone heard of this or done it? I'm not sure how it will work but I'm thinking I might give it a try. do you think this would be good bad and why.
Or can you give me some pointers of your own I might be able to try?
thank you.

This is not something I would do, mostly because of the need for quick transitions right and left and the possibility of it getting caught. I just wedge my foot against the outside peg and the heelguard. I would suggest looking at photos of AMA/GP racers and see if you ever see anyone doing this. Your inner thigh against the tank will keep you pretty stable.

I find digging my heel into the heel guard more than an adequate anchor point. :wei7
On the exit of a turn I weight the outside peg to help stand the bike up. As ernie mentioned, the transition would be vey akward :cool

and the WSB hang off. Pick the one that suits you and get some seat time at your favorite track. BTW, riding position doesn't make you faster than the other guy... no way! Only choosing the right synthetic oil can do that! :)
