I come home from dinner and find that a few of the outlets and a light switch no longer has power. I check the breaker box and notice that the breaker that controls those outlets is still on "ON." Finding this odd, I turn it to off and turn it on again, except now there is no resistance when I do that. The switch just flops back and forth between "ON" and "OFF." Anyone have any ideas?

if the breaker doesnt click or snap into the on or off position, then you need to replace it. Its an easy thing to do, if you're careful.
PM me if you'd like some assistance with it.:)

ya make sure u turn off the power first.. lol.. dont want to be part of the circuit.

But yeah i had the same problem but it was with a plug in the restroom turning off hte rest of the plugs in the near by rooms.

May seem obvious- but are you sure about the on/off thing? Some of those breakers trip to a position that looks like it's still on, and you have to push them pretty firmly to the off position to reset them.
