Clutch control; avoid dumping

Engaging the clutch lever only 1/3 produces smoother shifts, and avoids 'dumping' the clutch.

I'm trying to make this a habit.

Do you do this?

probably depends on the clutch of the bike being shifted.

but i find that i dont need to engage the lever back fully to shift smoothly. it in fact seems smoother this way.

there'a good bit of reading on the topic in this book that comes well recommended in this forum by lee parks. i got it off of amazon and really liked it:
