Help! Truck just died!

Anybody going to Stockton passing by Union City? I'll split you for gas! I started my truck up and the starter motor wouldn't disengage. Seems to have smoked the battery. I think the ignition switch is stuck on. It wouldn't jump start, the batt is too smoked. Anyway, no time to fix it now. If no answers maybe I can rent a truck. Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow!

Just cleaned and re-did terminals. It started! Should be able to get to the race no matter what, as I'll try and bump start it on my driveway. Might need a push to get it started for the way home though, as I think the starter is pretty flaky and I'm not up to changing it right now! See you tomorrow!

If the starter remains engaged its a very bad idea to drive it, the starter actually turns into a generator sending lots of unwanted voltage through all systems in the truck, i learned this the hard way in Bodega Bay after midnight in the rain, not fun.
