Bad Squid day

I'm just gonna post what happened and not go into detail.
Mr. K's friend had an R1 and looped it on a wheelie. He is ok besides some road rash on a knee and hands. Bike had damage everywhere.....every piece of fairing scratched or cracked, front brake lever assembly broke off, front fairing housing bent and was blocking steering, shifter assembly bent downward til it touched the chain, tank dented, looked like subframe bent, exhaust got disconnected from header somehow, both mirrors snapped off, etc....... but it still runs. :D

Then the POPO show up.........someone called the cops on us. They show up when we're about to load the R1 into Likelys truck. They ask for everyones license that is riding a bike, tried to ask different people who is the "leader" or the person that set this meet up. They even asked if we were a part of some online group or some type of mailing list. But no one said anything, everyone was like "we just decided to go here"....which is a good thing....no one "ratted" on anyone. The cops also asked us what we were doing and we basically said hanging out....they didnt believe us, so one of them said "if I confiscate that video, I bet it'll show us what you guys were doing".......but he didnt take it. They KNEW what we were doing there, and over all were pretty cool about it, they just did the usual "running" of the licenses to see if anyone has anything outstanding and basically told us to get out of their town. They actually said to go do it in Fremont....:D Before we left, the cop gave MStingray his card and asked to be e-mailed a copy of the video.........LIKE THATS GONNA HAPPEN!!! :laughing :laughing :laughing

it was a good showing of people though only a few actually did anything. Like me, most attendees watched.

Funny how people call up the popo w/o actually seeing anything (I'm pretty sure no 1 pulled anything when cars were around) but whatcha going to do? :rolleyes

I got the vid of Mr. K's friend looping the bike but it's not real clear unless you watch it on a larger screen TV. Glad he's alright for the most part. Maybe if it's alright w/ Mr K. and his friend we can show it at the social or something.

I'll post up what I have. Hopefully I'll have enough space to make a vid of the crash at least but most likely screencaps again.

Oh well, so much for likely's spot. where's the next spot going to be? :rolleyes

BTW, it is odd that whenever we have a group ride, something happens when TSC attends. :twofinger yer bad luck!

Yeah - I think I showed up (late, no less) about 10 minutes before the R1 loop. What a mess that turned out to be -- at least the bike stil runs and rolls though. You guys can't ban me, though! Waah! :cry

Thanks, also, to the MPPD for not busting anyone. They could have, they didn't, but it ended the fun for the day. :(

Oh yeah - sorry for not introducing myself when I got there... everything happened so quickly that I didn't get the chance to be polite, walk around, and say my 'hello's.

It was a pretty good day, till the liter bike started doing wheelies, in first gear....

I was thinking about doing a wheelie on the way home from the movie tonight, but I kept having flashbacks of seeing that R1 flipping through the air -- I didn't want that to happen to me. :(

I think the rider is doing pretty good, I know if it would have been me, I would have cried like a baby about messing up my bike. :cry

At some point today, I received too much sun and I now have a sun burn on the right side of my face and neck. I think it was after we dropped off the R1 and I was BSin' with Blaze and jkd. *shrug* DAMN CALIFORNIA SUN!!!

My R1 friend is fine, he said to thank to everyone that helped out. We all knows sooner or later your bike will be messed up if you stunts so no big deal about it.

He really want to see the video so please post it, I want to keep it for memory too! that could have been me! we were learning wheelies together at the same progress!

Glad to hear your friend is ok. When we do any type of get togethers, wether it be stunting or up in the twisties, no one is ever left alone. We normally stay til that person is taken care of.
ANyhow, tell him to heal up, get that thing fixed and get back on it. :D :D

Hmm, probably wasn't me (considering that I've never ridden on palomares before :D ). I usually do the redwood/skyline loop on sundays. Have you been on palomares before? I hear the road is a little dirty. Since you're in CV too, we could get together for a ride sometime?
