Too many to list. Really!
It seems like the 3x3 mod, FCR carb & yosi pipe are the first mods most people do. Hot cams & big bore are the next step.
Check out Thumpertalk.com in the DRZ forum. Very helpful

Mine is stock.. for the reason of iam twisting too much throttle for my own good. About the only thing i did was take off that stupid charcoal canister

If it's a CA model. First thing is to remove the smog can and all the crap with it. If you want, remove the kickstand and cluch safety devices. Remove the sharp corner on the back of the shifter lever so it does not crack the cover in the event of a fall. The list is endless. I bought one in Apirl and I'm not even close to finishing the list of mods I want to do, but who cares? The bike so much FuN to ride even if it's a so called "PIG".

Best mod I've made so far is Carbon Lorraine SM3 front pads. No more fade and lots of bite. Worked fantastic at Stockton for the SM Hooligans day.:cool

does it scoot pretty good?
im thinking about getting a DRZ and modding it rather than getting a husky and having to tear the thing apart monthly and change the oil weekly.

take it how you want being that the only itme ive riden a DRZSM was on salmon falls and it was the most fun ive had on 2 wheels ever (more fun than the track day on my gixxer). ill take your word for it. i just wish the throttle was a bit more intimidating. haha.

It's like a night and day diffrence. This is how it should have come from the factory.

I feel you there. It really sucks stock but like others have said, a few cheap mods makes quite a difference.
I got refund from a fcr mx kit I ordered but it's ok with me....full yosh stainless sys, new jets and no emission shit is enough for me at least in the streets.
I have a few mods but my favorite are my tires. Running Drifts on the street.....I know they're illegal but they really kick ass and really so much more fun for me....
Take into account I usually ride in The City and being pulled over by the CHP isnt much of a concern.

It's easy to work on, with all the mods I did'nt even have to drop the motor out of the frame.
