He fucking blew that so hard.

He got excited and lost everybit of game plan.

The ground is the only place he stood a chance with Chuck.

On another note, looking forward to Tito fuckin up Ken soon.

I think people tend to blame the opponents more then they praise Liddell. Liddell has a great ground defense, and can knock people out from almost any angle in the stand up game.

+1

Chuck Liddel is a total stud and has the distinct advantage that he can end the fight with just a single punch at any moment in a fight with punches from angles that nobody else can effectively throw which means that just a tiny mistake can do an opponent in.

In addition, he has some very good skills and works out alot harder than most people realize.

All of that make him a very dangerous opponent

Not taking anything away from Chuck, but you have to admit. Coming after him wildly swinging in that manner, is not the best plan of attack.

Best part of that fight night was the interview with Forest after his fight. Did anyone else see that? Freaken comedy.

Chuck is a monster, but I still don't see how his "body by budweiser" physique knocks people out so easily. He just looks soft compared to everyone else.

Forrest is a great character for the UFC. Funnier than hell, and a good fighter.

I have no idea what the crowd's problem was? But, it's typical of the UFC crowds to be ignorant as hell.

When is that fight? I am really looking forward to that! Maybe even as much as the Wanderlei/Liddel fight. Ok, not that much, but close.

You can't rush in on Lidell and think your going to suprise him early on. That was just bad strategy. Once he got that good first hit on him he should have backed away and waited to another good strike.

you guys are being silly here, one of the hardest things to defend against is some one coming at you like that, liddell either
A:calculated the swings and threw his at the right moment or
b: got a lucky wildly swinging shot of his own in.
i saw the fight i think it was b. i think lidell has got lots of standup skills but we have yet to see him really go to the ground and we havent seen him go actually go the distance in a fight.
just my observations:laughing

I'm suspect of Chuck's ground game as well, but that's because I can't remember ever seeing him on his back. I've got to give credit where its due.....the guy seems to be proving that you may not really need a ground game. You may be able to argue the same point for Tim Silvia whose ground game is weak as well.

Oct 10th on Spike TV, they'll have Shamrock vs Ortiz 3.

The last one ended quickly, but I'd argue that it was stopped prematurely. The ref really didn't give shamrock much time to defend and shammy seemed to get up really quickly after it was stopped. I dunno....i can see it both ways, but at least this time it's free.

Chuck is really not that great, only in UFC. The PRIDE fighters are better and much more skilled. Anyone see when Chuck made an appearance on PRIDE in Japan and soundly got his ass kicked in by Rampage Jackson, who's only an above average fighter in PRIDE?

that makes 2 KO/stoppage for a sobral v lidell fight.
