Our 1st baby Shicayne was put to rest on August 31, 2006. He suffered from hemangiosarcoma, a very aggressive cancer which attacks the blood cells. By the time we saw any symptoms it was too late. The cancer had spread to his lungs, liver and spleen. He was bleeding profusely internally which was coming up and out through his nose and throat. The doctor informed us there was no treatment for him and they could only prolong the inevitable. He was on blood and plasma transfusion and surviving through that. Even with the support, he was rapidly losing blood. He would only suffer if we waited, so we decided to let him rest in peace and without pain. This is definitely the hardest decision we have had to make, but we know we did all that we could, and it was truly the best for Shicayne. He is with the angels now. He was loved by many people and will be missed. Shicayne was very intelligent, playful, gentle with the children and just loved life. We loved Shicayne with all our hearts and we will miss him. But, he will always be with us in our hearts and we know he will be our angel looking over us. We will love you forever, Shicayne.
Shicayne’s 10th birthday is coming up on September 13. Please take a moment to think of him that day and send him happy wishes.
