1 - Is it legal to wear a helmet while driving a car?

2 - Is the parking lot @ 4-Corners (in front of Skywood trading post) a private lot?

3 - Is it legal for a LEO to give you a fix-it ticket while your bike is on that property?

Yes, as long as you don't have your earphones turned on. Also, why would you wear one anyway?

Yes. Unless it is a city/county/state Park, all parking lots are privately owned.

3 - Is it legal for a LEO to give you a fix-it ticket while your bike is on that property?
Yes! sorry

o.. i'm surprised you can get a fix-it ticket in that situation. The vehicle isn't on public roads. That's like getting a fix-it ticket on the racetrack.

1) As far as I can tell, it is legal to wear a helmet in a car. I am unable to find any violation section pertaining to this.
2) While the parking lot may be "private property," it is considered an off-street parking facility that is open to the public for use by customers persuant to the policies of the owner, which is also open to the public.
3) Yes, a LEO can give a fix-it ticket for most violations when you are in an off-street parking facility or lot.

What did you get tagged for?

I didn't get tagged but a bunch of CHP were there last Sunday giving out tickets and it seemed only for improperly mounted or missing license plates. My friend rode up saw them and left (no mufflers/tucked license plate)

I dont see how it's legal cause a vehicle that's not on public roads as far as i understand doesn't need to be street legal...Unless the officer saw you drive/ride up and park there I just always assumed you couldn't get a ticket. What if I owned the property or the liqour store? I would be pissed at CHP for driving away my business and harassing my customers on my own property.

What CAN'T you get ticketed for? You said they can give you a ticket for MOST violations. ;)

Do a search on private property- this has been covered quite a few times.

I've never understood why anyone moves the license plate right under and at an angle.

It just screams out 'I want a ticket!'

Why????

I mean, for sure, trim the fender and neaten it up. But moving the plate is just begging to be pulled over, no?

Many of the CVC sections specifically mention they also apply to public off-street parking areas.
