I like it, I like the styling direction that they have taken the couple of years. Certainly looks better than a few of its competitors' bikes...

Not sure if I like it as much as I thought....but I do like tall standards and LOVE the sound of the triumples...

It just looks funny...I actually like the v-strom better :wow

Luggage options will make or break this thing. I'll certainly be fanagling a test ride as soon as CalMoto has a demo.

Looks like they've gone the way of the Multi(gag)Strada in building a rig that is very street-biased.

I find it interesting how there was a boom to create competition for the BMW GS about 4-6 years ago (Caponord, V-Strom, Multi-Ugly, Ulysses, Tiger, whatever that RC51-engined Honda they sell in Europe is called), and now pretty much all those pretenders have made their updated machines more street oriented, pretty much surrendering the big-trailie category to the GS and the KTM.

I still think there's fertile ground there for a reliable, capable bike that can handle 2 people, their gear, and a bit of dirt for under the price of a new Pontiac.

Another sorta tall sportbikey thing with 17" cast rims and a tipsy passenger perch? Eh. Seen it already.

I agree - total step in the right direction.
I think it is a lot bigger than it looks too.
I bet they come out with a more dirt oriented version too.
Here is an Italian website I came across that has bunch of more pictures

Dunno, I always really liked the dual roundeye headlights. This looks too much like the new Tuono.

Wow, that's nice.

Tubeless instead of tubed? Cast instead of spoked? Street tires instead of knobbies? Single exhaust can instead of dual? Side bags? Top case? Front end that looks like a Yamahondaki? No hand guards? Angular lines all over? A lower fairing?

:wtf

That's a Tiger by name only.

What's next, a faired version of the Speed Triple without dual round headlights? :hand

That was my point. These bikes have evolved from GS-chasers to the new "standard" motorcycle. They're pure street bikes, but with taller springs for some reason. Small gas tanks, ass-up styling? I guess I see what they're doing, in much the same way I understand every carmaker stamping out 5000-pound SUV's for women to drive to the grocery store. But I can't understand every bike maker rushing toward the same spot in the market and leaving such a wide gap in function and pricing back to the BMW.

I think Aprilia have got it fairly right with their current and promised line-up, but they're so completely fucked as a company that it doesn't really matter.

It's the SUV of Motards.

I like the new look very much, but can't help to think that the majority of Tiger fans may feel short-changed in the capability department.

I think tubless is the way to go for a whatever the hell kind of bike this is. I'd hate to try patching a tubed tire in the middle of nowhere.

I don't think I've ever seen a Tiger with nobbies - the ones since 99 have been street oriented anyhow so this isn't a big change. (does look a lot better than the 99-06 models IMO )

Someone on the ADV forum said it looked like a speed triple humped a v-strom...

There is nothing really wrong with the new Triumph, also not much really that good. It's just so bland.

I'll stick with my FZ1 any day.
