I think I've actually asked this question before, but I can't find anything with the search function here, or on the WSMC site...

How do AFMers go about signing up? I'm assuming we have to rent an AMB transponder, but do they give a one weekend liscense or do you have to sign up for a longer period of time to get a deal?

And, where do you find the forms on the site? All I see is the stuff for current racers...

thanks in advance.

Willow Springs rocks, 6th gear knee on the ground front tire lifting from the wind, don't end up with a brain bleed, broken colar bone and broken pinky like I did last year.

Or with a broken ankle and one week of memory loss like I did five years ago!

Call the Office. THey are pretty nice there and will hook you up.

Careful you don't come home with all their trophies, contingency and purse money, those WSMC pansies get all bent out'a shape when they see an 'AFM' sticker show up... :laughing :laughing

shhhhhh ..... Its kinda like throwing someone in the lion pit purely for entertainment purposes... IF you tell them whats going on they won't willingly go.... ;)

You can get forms here: http://www.willowspringsraceway.com/clubs/wsmc/Forms.htm

I don't see any special info about reciprocity licenses, but according to the normal 2006 Membership form, the fee is only $50 after Nov 1. So even if you don't get a discount on the license, it's not that much and you can do 2 rounds of racing with it.

You can call and ask, or you can just FAX in all the forms with a photocopy of your AFM license and I'm sure that will take care of everything. We have a much later cutoff for pre-entry, you can FAX stuff in up until Wednesday 5pm before the race weekend. But if you're getting a license and all that you probably want to get it done sooner than later.

The transponder fee is really steep, I want to say it's $60 but don't quote me on that. We run the same ones as WERA so you're best bet would be to see if you could borrow someone's for the weekend and save some dough.

Talked to someone at the office (Thanks for that advice...) and they straightened me out. $60 for transponder, $50 for liscense for two months (awesome) and then the normal fees.

Add that on to the gas and that's a nice, expensive weekend...

Thanks guys.

Will you be there in Nov? I will.

if anyone is interested in going down there for november let me know. I can take another person and another bike w/ limited spares. Split gas, but not room (I'll probably camp).

Oh, and if it's elaine she only pays 1/4 gas based on weight. Seriously, it'd be much easier to take a two-stroke down than another big bike.

oh actually that might be really good for me, cuz i'm gonna go visit my parents for thanksgiving afterwards and i don't want to take my bike with me. well i have to make sure i have a (running) bike first :)

The girl who could destroy a 1,000 two stroke engines, I told you you might be better of racing a 250 four stroke, OK 500.;)
