Anybody want to hang out and ride @ Metcalf this Saturday? We'll be there around 10:00am'ish

My new bling. Got it through trading my Mtn. bike and $500.

I want to ride the Husky, but I don't have a spark arrestor for it.

Get some metal screen mesh and a pipe clamp. This system got me through holister although I make no guarantees. It's so wet out that they probably won't check and in the event that they do, they might let you through with that set up.

The two downsides are that you risk ruining a day of riding if they don't let you through and if they do you'll get a very pretty bike very, very dirty. :teeth

Dude - - - come out to Metcalf and see me crash... Repeatedly.

This is my first time riding a two-stroke ::: giggles :::

Dion said "two-stroke" won't sound so kinky when I am landing face-first in the dirt. :laughing

The first time I rode a two-stroke was at Stockton last season. I was only on an 85 but scared the crap out of me coming from a TTR125. I was entering the track and when it hit the powerband I wheelied straight across the track, narrowly missing getting T-boned in the process. Everyone watching was laughing until their eyes teared up. You'll be fine, two strokes are incredibly fun to ride, just make sure you have some open space in front of you the first time out.

Nope...

Eventually, I'm going to build a frankenstein cruiser. My brother built a killer one and that kinda inspired me. I'm just into putting around, Santa Cruz surfer style.

For a guy that grew up on BMX, I suX0rs at bicycles.

Here's a 20" BMX'er I built this year, but never ride it. I'm too big. Did I say big? I meant FAT.

Dion, Dion, you have to have a mtn. bike if you go to downeyville next season. I'll show you some vid of some crazy single track along the cliffs. I have one 20in bmx, tried jumping once in GG park, foot sliped on landing and the peddal smacked my exposed shin. I tried to be a man and act like nothing happened, the crew noticed the Dark Red blood coming from the shin filling my bike shoe. Did I mention I hate BMX bikes now! I still have the scare.

As far as being to big. Never tell that to a former Bud Light clydesdale state champ. Third place in 1998, first place in 1999.

I used to be a freestyler BMX'er... into wall rides, handrail slides, grinds, skatepark stuff, vert, tree rides, etc. I also was pretty handy at flatland, too. I think that's why I love SuperMoto so much... the translation of body engrish is similiar. I'm really suprised I didn't get into stunt riding given my background (even though I'll do an occasional wannabe stunt once in awhile).

Bicycle riding to me has always been urban and never rural. Although we did frequent Calabasas BMX park, I come from that generation *right* before the X-games and all that stuff - it was anarchy, punk, rap, asphalt... and basically a bunch of teenage idiots riding around on 20" bicycles running from security guards. Which is funny, because now I'm a 31 yr. old idiot riding around on a motorize bike, running from security guards :teeth.

Dude, I suck at offroad stuff on a bicycle, and I don;t think I intend to buy another mtn. bike. Like I said, if I'm going to ride, I'm building an Urban Assult bike... street tires, flat black, one gear and a flowery basket up front.

It's all about keeping it fun. I try to do as many sports as I can afford. Time to wax the snowboard.

Heh - That bike is a handfull. Sadly, no wheelies to report (intentional or accidental).

It was my first time EVER in the dirt on a dirtbike. I really had no clue what to expect. It became evident that street riding mindset and skills don't apply in the dirt. I had some difficulties getting past that when I went on the "easy" trail before I was ready :laughing

That bike is a monster (for a newbie to dirt) and I need more time to bond with it. I think I could really enjoy dirt riding with more time out there. It's fun, but a whole different world from riding on pavement. I have A LOT to learn...

I have scars to this day from that place.

My favorite was the fakey tree ride right out of the creek bed. That was until I did one and came down on teh back of my head (no helmet, of course). Calabasas is going under some rennovations right now (I think). There's all kinds of city council hassle regarding the place, though.

I saw pics of it from a few years ago. I haven't been there since 1992... and man... people built up that place pretty hairy!
