so what is the best 'mod' - the one you can't live without now that you have it- that has been done to your supermoto and why?

mods such as: engine, new grips, a dose of courage, suspension, tyres, controls, mirrors, handguards, fenders, hiring doug henry to pretend he's you for a session, carb, brakes... whatever.

discuss.

Barkbusters and Delrin(bulk plastic) that I made my own sliders with... Good bark busters cost about $75 and the rest(axel and bar end) cost about $4.25...

Brakes, tires and suspension.

After that, 17" wheels... but that's not really necessary.

Maybe not the 'best' but pretty cool anyway. Mine doesn't have the wave design but the thing is a monster.

17s. I also learned the immediate benefits of dialing in suspension at the last hooligan's track day. I had been entering a corner and then my suspension would literaly bounce up and down through the corner which made smooth entrances and exits very hard. Two clicks of compression and two of rebound and it was a whole different bike.

Just like advice from the internet the best supermoto mods are free.

Pay off your 19% APR bike loan and lose 25 pounds.

Unless you're already a pinner like jake28.

Fun mods: FCR and full Akro

Best overall: Switching to a 4 pot caliper with a Mag radial master (already had the 320 rotor). Cut my brake distances almost in half.

Where'd you get the bulk delrin at?

I think protective items like handguards, case savers, axle and peg sliders, and radiator guards rank up there for best mods. It's reassuring (sorta) to know that if (more likely, when) I bin it, my bike will most likely be rideable afterwards...:teeth
