At Stockton I had a lowside. I got up and kicked the bike over and rode off. My suit was not even that scuffed. Later I got really sore and then that evening my hip/side-butt was hurting really badly. I was wondering for future get offs of this nature if there are any items I can buy to protect my hips in a crash? It seems that will be the first thing I hit on the Supermoto crash and I have hard armour in my suit everywhere else.
Motostrano sells this:

Anyone know of other items or have tried these?

I use mountain bike padded shorts under my jersey or leathers whether street or dirt riding and they have saved both my tail bone and hips many many times. All the ones you've listed will work IMHO:teeth

The ones with the plastic guards seem to be the most protective. Anyone used these?

We normally have our elbows, knees, ankles and shoulders covered with armor but what about the hips?
Looks like a good piece of safety gear to me.

I have the T-pro under shorts and like 'em. They pad out a few thin spots that get nailed in a crash but don't feel like you're wearing anything. I wear 'em under the TLD SM pants and hardly notice them.

Has anybody tried any of these under leathers? Or just SM gear (hee hee...SM gear sounds dirty)?

The Tpro shorts or other brand shorts would work great under leathers. One nice thing is, if your leathers fit a bit loose, the armor will snug them up a little. If your leathers are a perfect fit, they'll just break in more.

Which is the better buy, the TPro shorts or the TLD shorts? I'm torn between the two

Tpro is a little better.

I actually own the jacket portion of the suit. Works really nice. I use it more as an "over the leathers" kind of jacket when it's raining or misting. The pants would work well for that same application. The only lacking quality is it won't really keep you warm. But dry is a good thing. Also depending on your application, consider the sizing. I had to go with a size larger than usual jacket to get over my leathers.

That's what I was planning to use it as too. Something to put over my leather jacket and jeans on the way to work. Which size did you buy? I was thinking the XL but if you needed a 2X I probably do too.

Get the 2X for over leathers

Like DukeD I use my Downhill mountian bike gear. My padded shorts have about 1/2" padding. Wish I had worn them at Metcalf!! I've had good luck with all my 661 gear. I'd like to hear feedback on the 661 shorts with the impact plastic.
