So we bought a Lifan 200, I already have one in the CRF, badged as an Extreme(product name). This one looks the same, and I had a race cam for the CRF 150 and a high compression piston for the CRF 150. Thing is I bored the crf150 to a 170 and had the race cam in it. so the 150 HC piston was lying around. Well got the Lifan, since I wanted to leave the chinese motor in my CRF so I would have something to ride while I built this monstrosity. Here are some pics of the Lifan Chinese motor, and I will tell you I am impressed with the quality. The Powroll HC piston fit perfectly, deck height is right on, and the Race Cam I had in the Honda CRF150(170) motor fit like a glove. The thing is the crf150 and this Chinese Lifan engine share the same 63.5mm piston, just the stroke is different. The Lifan is about square on bore and stroke. So now in this Chinese 200cc engine it has a 12.9 to 1 compression ration piston with a race cam, I will use the Race ECU from the 150 and a 30mm carb, with the T4 pipe. Just dont know If I want to put it in a tard frame or one of the derbi frames. Time will tell. Here are some pics of this weekends adventure. will probably have to add a barnett clutch, but wouldnt ya know. It looks exactly like the honda 150 clutch, so I am sure that will fit too. One thing I did notice. The honda had a 2 row cam chain, and the lifan had a 3 row cam chain, and hence a thicker cam sprocket. What does that mean? well a little more weight, but heavy duty baby, heavy duty.......

Lifan Head on top. Same size valves as the 150/230 honda, bigger than the XR200.. and this is supposed to be a xr200 replacement. Nice

But with the electric starter I did Spin it up to make sure every thing was good, valves adjusted etc... Now need to mount in a bike add the carb, pipe, and ecu. and Fire it up. The only drawback is with the compression ration it is running 100 octane or better, race fuel is in order.

Which chasiss to use-

A. RS125

B. TZ 125

C.CR 85

D.None-light it on fire with Jack Daniels.

Kinda looks like a sportbike motor to me. You think you would have cooling issues with a full set of fairongs? You might have to run it nekid.

Hey Patrick,

Nice!

Q? How does the over-all head height compare to an XR100 & the 150 Honda vs the Lifan 200cc?

I have always pondered the thought this 4-stroker in the YSR or NSR, but being that it's a China motor, has always swayed me from proceeding......concerned with liability, available replacement parts and or hop-ups. And is why I stayed with a 2-stroker.

Lastly, in your opinion, would Lifan or any 4-stroker make a good 'street' motor?

ps, can you let us know if there is any vibration issues and/or differences too? :p

This is the same motor that I have been running in my CRF150 at stockton. The motard that Shane sometimes rides out there. I have noticed no difference in it as compared to the standard honda built CRF150. No noticible vibration, so far excellent reliability, we scream it till it won't go no more.... I have had the Chinese motor in my CRF150 for over a year and no problems. It is physically the same size as the CRF150F motor, not the new CRF150R. It is bigger than a 100. I would think it is about 3 inches taller than the 100, and it is wider at the cases. As far as Cooling, yea would run it Naked and plan on an oil cooler as well.

Also. Don't know how hard it would be to stuff it in the RS frame, but it might fit the Derbi easier. I think I will hold out for the CFR150R liquid cooled motor for the RS125 Frame, now that will be one fun bike. But this motor in the Derbi should be pretty good as well. Plus the ergonomics are better, a little more roomy in the Derbi. But if I wanted to have a winning race team, I would build the RS125 framed CRF150R and have Daren Race it. He would fit it like a glove.....

New here and found this post during a search. Curious coincidence, but I have been considering the exact same swap into a CRF150F motard chassis.

Sorry to bump the thread, but had some questions. I know you went to the hi-comp stock (63.5 mm piston) however I am curious if there is room for a bore over of 0.080 (2mm) and going to a 11:1 65.5 or 66mm piston? This sounds like the exact set-up that I would like due to our class limit being 230cc.

Many thanks and I would like to get any updates on this project or direct me to where it can be found.

Nice copy. Here's an example of a copy that's almost better than the original!

Now, Got the motor in the bike and I try to fire it up. I had turned it over as in the movie I made and everything seemed to be working. Well, in the frame, got no spark. checked everything, checked power out of the three wires from the generator and trigger. had 32 volts DC out of the generator and the trigger was pulsing. Still no spark, check voltage to the coil from black box, wasn't working, sometimes a little voltage, other times no voltage at all. So I check the output of the original copy motor, generator is putting out about 60 volts dc. So this motor wont work with the ignition module I have (black box). Since I had the CRF150 motor apart I pulled the generator and flywheel off and put them on the new copy motor. The Crf flywheel is lighter and no gear for the electric start, but it should spin up faster than the standard copy motor does. I kicked it twice and it fired right up. So funny that the extreme motor (1st chinese copy motor) worked with the Honda ignition box, but the Lifan (2nd chinese copy motor) didn't, since the extreme motor is a Lifan, just badged differently. Will break in the motor this saturday at prarie city and bring it out Sunday to stockton. Havent' ridden it yet, but it sounds healthy...

Hey Patrick how much different is this thing compared to a xr100 motor, if you know? I was thinking about possibly putting one of these into an xr100 frame. Thanks for any info.
