Darrick from WCSM has one scheduled for the 19th. His last one was cancelled. I'm going to be working with him next year to do a SMhooligans/WCSM school.

If you can wait, I'll have a schedule for 2007 in a week or two.

If everybody's willing to pay for it. It's, like, double the cost of what we currently pay.

Still cheaper than a sport bike trackday! I'd be down. I'd love to try Dixon too.

I think we are talking about the Infineon Kart track, not the big main track.

The kart track is sweet. I hope we can book some SM days on the kart track.

Yeah. I wouldnt want to ride the main track on an SM unless I had a Big KTM or one of those fancy new aprilias. But I've heard their kart track is great. Keeping my fingers crossed.

It's very, very slippery from what Richie said. Kart oil everywhere.

And I hear they REQUIRE sliders on both axles, bars and pegs.

I was at the Z2 track day at Infinion yesterday, its great fun on a motard bike.

if you could muster enough bodies to get just SM bikes there it would be even better.

Its not that the sportbike riders have/cause any issues, but the difference in straight line speed can be painful, the inverse in the corners is very entertaining :teeth

Went on the cart track at a meeting earlier in the year, wasn't supposed to be on it and soon got kicked off.

I can say it looked like it could be fun but to as Dion says it was slippy as hell.

No prob there. Hook it up!!
Id pay it just to try it once.
Larger track so we could distribute the cost across more riders.

Say $75 for 65 rider list.
I couldn't see the track costing more than $5k.....but hey what do I know?:teeth

We're not talking about the big track... the small karting track is what we would ride.

I just got off the phone with Brok from SuperMotoUSA and Dixon on the weekend will also be costly, depending on what we can combine. I'll see what we can do for next year. So far, Stockton is still the best bang for our buck.

I still want to do an epic adventure to Grange.

No you don't. SuperMoto's really belong on tight asphalt, dirt and urban jumps and obstacles. The big track will destroy your motor and you will be quickly disappointed.

http://supermotoschools.com will be having a school with practice to follow at Infineons Kart track on monday the 11th. There is a Supermoto USA race in conjunction with afm race on march 27th I think and this is also on the Kart track. I like that track :applause check out http://supermototrackdays.com for more info.

By the were you talking to a kid named Garret Willis on a Red R6?

Not sure that was the guy, I didn't get his name but he was riding a KTM

I hope the track is not a slippy as last time we were on it, if it rains it will be like Ice

not sure I agree with all you say here.

I still have much to learn about the short track techniques, but the SMs work great on tracks like Infinion and Thunderhill.

Its not about trying to keep up with the sportsbikes, or trying to redline down the straight, its about trying to make sure your face dosen't distort into the permanent grin you end up with.

every time I attend a track day the number of SMs continues to grow.

I would agree that Infinion would be expensive for a purely SM day (it is the most expensive day out with Z2 by a long way and they were sold out in all classes) but maybe a day out at Thunderhill or even Reno, now theres a thought, Reno has something like 27 turns over 4 miles its like blasting down Skyline with one way traffic!! and if you get bored there's a dirt oval

just an idea :)

My bike would blow up at a track like infineon. :(. Even Thunderhill...

Us guys with 450's and 250's... no way. One piston? Ugh... it would seriously get ugly, fast.

Believe me, I think it's cool that people are bringing SM's onto the big track becasue it truely helps the sport. But you're looking at VERY frequent top-end rebuilds and valve replacements, if they don't blow up and spread oil all over the place. After all... SM are dirtbikes. The 650R is the only bike that I would consider worthy for the big track since it is a Baja 1000 bike, and that's pushing it - it would seriously have to be geared to suit the harse conditions of the road race course. Your standard race spec SuperMoto, like my bike, would get destroyed on wide open throttle tracks.

I'm also a big proponent for dirt sections. IMO, SuperMoto is not SuperMoto without dirt :teeth. Shoot, we should be having urban jumps at our trackdays!

Did Dion really just volunteer some urban jumps for our track days? How cool! Thank you Dion! ;) The kart track @ Infineon is a really cool, fun place and it's got a ton of different layouts too. But I probably won't be able to make Infineon this Monday. :cry Brock said he'll try to get a few more trackdays there and there will be at least one race there in 2007.

Been to a bunch of tracks in the last couple of years, but the 2 times that I've been to Infineon kart track were my favorite!! (OK, Grange and Reno were awsome)

I did crash there (Sears) twice, but it was my fault, not a slippery track! On the other hand, I'll never forget Darrick riding in the rain- it looked as if he was riding on greased ice!

So would I pay too much for another chance to ride there? Hell yea. Wait ...... HELL YEA!

As far as SM's on a big track- every so often would be ok. Our Husaberg 650 rips on a big tracks-- I'm not sure I'm man enough!! I had my 450 over 90 mph every lap at Reno- Fernley, and it seemed to love it. Unfortunately, I'll never get to know how they stand up to that kind of reguler abuse.

Hey Deon, Steve wants an Urban Jump- we could nail a couple boards to some milk crates-- like when I was a kid.

Don't let Pat fool you. I saw him doing the boards nailed to a couple of milk crates for a jump on Geary St a couple of weekends ago. Man that guy was getting air!
