There is a opportunity for me to pick up a DRZ SM in vegas with nevada plates. It has 5K miles on it. I searched here but couldn't find any info whether these bikes are 49 state bike or cali legal
if they are only 49 state legal what are my options ?
1) Can I ride it untill it is 7500 miles & then register it?
2) can I register it in my name in nevada & then ride it here ?
help.. the motard bug is killing me :)

well...to quote one of my favorite south park educators..."bzzzzzzt..wrong! try again dumbass!"
I am incorect the DRZ 400 SM is a 49 state and CA version, even in 2007.
FWIW...suzuki of oakland is selling the 06 models for $5999 OTD!
They are good people there for sure.

Or you can borrow someone's speedo that already has over 7500 on it and register it right away :)
Not that I would condone anything illegal or anything but....

I think there's a magic 7000 mile number for registering used vehicles in CA that originally came from outside CA. Not sure about the 49 state emissions biz.
Might be good to visit your local DMV office and ask in person rather than banking on anonymous and dubious advice from the internet.
