i bought a 2002 450 and the guy gave me the stock one a 7oz and a 9 oz.
im not even sure what the stock weight is.

they add mass to the flywheel so that motor doesn't spin up as fast. better for trail riding.

motor has more inertia so on low RPMs while on tight trails your motor wont stall. opposite from what the SM race teams are doing these days, which is " less is more"

Also handy for slow riding, hense the fact that a harley can chug along at idle while my ducati V twin jerks and bucks if I try to run it that slow.

I wonder when stunt bikes are going to get heavier flywheels :confused
