2003 Honda Civic Si “EP3” hatchback for sale

Bought Honda Certified Used with 26,500 miles 8/2005
Clean title with pink slip in-hand; current registration
5-speed manual transmission
Color: Vivid Blue Pearl
Current mileage: 49,000
All maintenance records available (during my ownership)

I bought this ’03 Civic Si as a Honda Certified Used car from a local dealership during August of last year (2005) at 26,500 miles. I purchased the extended warranty for the car, but I don’t believe the extended warranty is transferable to a new owner.

There are a few wear marks on the side bolsters of the driver’s seat, but there are no stains or other abnormal marks on any of the fabric. Some interior panels have scratch marks, but none of the panels are cracked or loose.

The exterior is in good overall condition. There are some rock chips on the front bumper and hood and there are a few small scratches/paint chips on the rear bumper from when I was backed into in a parking lot. There are two shallow dents at opposite corners of the moon roof, although I don’t know what caused them. There are also a couple of minor door dings that are hardly noticeable.

The car has had all maintenance done at the same dealer the car was purchased from with the exception of the last oil change, when I switched the car from regular Honda oil to Mobil 1 full synthetic (still 5W/20, the recommended weight oil for the motor), although an OEM Honda filter was used. Oil was changed every 3k miles using normal oil and now every 5k with the synthetic oil. I plan to get the car aligned and have the 50k service done before the car is sold. Tires are Kumho Ecsta 711 size 215/50/15 with roughly 60% left.

The car was involved in a couple of accidents, one very minor and one moderate. The first was when I was rear-ended at a right-turn lane by a car that accelerated from being stopped behind me straight into the back of the car. The bumper was re-sprayed and matches the rest of the car perfectly. A few other miscellaneous parts were replaced, all covered under the other driver’s insurance. The other accident was when I essentially sideswiped a mountain wall (dirt/boulders) at 25-30mph. There was absolutely no damage to the frame, but some suspension pieces (and the front bumper) were replaced due to damage or as a precaution. Everything was replaced with genuine Honda parts by a professional body shop. I also have all of the paperwork from the repairs.

The car was also in for warranty service twice. The first was when the SRS light came on and would not turn off. At the same time that happened I lost the ability to honk the horn via the steering wheel as well as the function of the steering wheel-mounted cruise control buttons. The SRS coil in the steering wheel was replaced under warranty by a Honda dealership and all problems went away. The second was when the throttle suddenly became very rough and would stick in various places. The problem was traced back to the throttle body itself (the throttle cable was checked independently and moves freely in its housing) and the complete throttle body was replaced under warranty by another Honda dealership. I have the papers from both of these repairs. Neither of these problems has me concerned (this isn't a Z06 so the stuck throttle cable really wasn't scary) and if I didn't need the money, I honestly wouldn't be selling the car.

Everything is completely stock on the car except for the removal of the “i-VTEC” stickers from the rear lower panels and the “Si” emblem from the front grill. I love the car, but I’m moving for school and can’t afford to keep the car.

KBB for Good condition is $13.3k, fair condition is a little over $12k and Trade-In for Good condition is $12k. I'm asking for $12,000 OBO.

I would possibly be willing to trade for either a Toyota 4-Runner (the 80's ones with two doors) or Tacoma/pickup with the 22R/22RE, preferably 5-speed or an SV650/S, CBR 600F/F2/F3, GS500E or similar (valued at $3500 or less).

Mileage update: 49,7xx
New asking price: $11,500 OBO (I'll hook a BARFer up!)

Just had the oil/filter changed about 200 miles ago with Mobil 1 5W20 full synthetic and an OEM Honda filter. The car needs an alignment, which should happen sometime next week when my friend's shop can fit me into their schedule. The car is obviously dirtier now than in the pics because of the rain lately, but the paint is well protected (did a full wash/clay/paste wax the day before I shot the pics about 2 weeks ago).

Please, if anybody knows someone who may be looking for a car like this, send 'em over! I really don't want to sell the car, but I need to in order to help pay for school, and I can't buy my bike until the car is sold!

BTW, the car needs the alignment because it's been returned to its stock suspension (I had it aligned after installing the Tokico struts and Eibach springs that were on the car for 10-12k miles), NOT because of the accident it was in.
