What da dealio....... what was discussed and or what's happening in 2007?

I guess what I really want to know is, is there gonna be an All NSR class for 2007 (no more 4-stokers w/ 2-smokers :teeth)?

4 strokers will still race with two smokers and there will be an "NSR Cup" class

You still have any of those flyers left? We should try to get some out to the MC shops. Tim is working on a larger poster type deelio for the shops also.

There are a couple other minor rule changes. I don't think there will be a sumo class for pocketbikes but the other PB classes will be unchanged to make a total of 4 PB classes. Jr Stars will likely have some sort of bike restriction.

I think Matt has what he needs to make the official rules.

Forms for the banquet and membership are available on the website now. The rulebook will follow soon.

Question tho', will it be restricted (no mods) as is the Formula 50?

I didn't have time to grab them. I had a very small window of time between picking up the NSR and to getting where I had to be that evening.....I had only 10 min. to change and head back out the door after unloading the bike :(

Also, Mark (another Mark on Barf) and Budman plans on distributing them out as well. Feel free to contact Budman (PM me if you want his email).....also PM me cost of print outs, I want to make some copies to to hand out locally.

Thanks for the update

NBC Transportation, inc donated the printing fees for the flyers I dropped off. I wanted to make sure we got some off to Fremont Honda/Kawasaki. If Budman plans on handing out what is left I could always make up some more for the East Bay.

As for the details on the rule changes I think we will have to wait for the rulebook. It sounds to me that the NSR cup will be a totaly stock NSR with the basic suspension changes allowed (like Fom 50) Aftermarket rear shocks being allowed would be a good idea IMO. This way older NSR's could compete as well as the '04

First, thanks NBC Transportation :thumbup

I will contact Budman in regards to seeing if he can help distributing them around the So. Bay. Again, I will have some copies made to distribute locally. I would hope that Matt and or others will do the same within their local areas (Central Valley).

That's good to know.

In regards to older NSR's, I feel an upgraded CDI (Posh or quiv)and suspension upgrades to get them equiv to 04 NSR should be allowed, it's only fair. Fyi, the older NSR's CDI's are restricted. Other than that, the motors are identical, from what I've been told :toothless

As far as allowing them to be raced within the Formula 50 and or Cup series, an 04 carb (equiv) and 04 pipe should be required.

My 93 NSR would be a prime example (which will be up for sale soon), which is equipped with an 04 carb & pipe, for this very reason.

pocketbike classes

In regards to the pocketbikes, is there more info with class changes for the pocketbikes? I read on this thread the SUMO class is gone........that sucks being one the SUMO riders. I feel the SUMO class should stay and eliminate the OPEN CLASS since everyone in that class races their SUPER PRODUCTION BIKE INSTEAD OF A REAL OPEN POCKETBIKE........JUST MY OPINION.

Did any pocketbike riders attend this meeting?

To all my fellow pocketbike riders, what's your thoughts on all this?

I would mention your concerns to Matt. I don't think anything is etched in stone but it will be soon. Maybe you can get a hold of some PB peeps on the other forum and let Matt know what the general consensus is.

Shane tucked the front using his RS125 front brake on the straight. It was a low side and scraped his visor on the way down. He did a little sliding to put a little street cred into his replica leathers. His bike bit the soft grass and went for a tumble.

Shane came out fine and his bike needs new plastics and a clip on.

will do, thanks!

I actually posted on the other forum, already, after I posted on this forum..... :teeth

I have to back-up my fellow PBers. Why is this class being cut? This is one of the healthiest classes as a whole. I know the numbers have been reduced as of late, but this is the norm in racing seasons as they approach the final races.

I can count at least 6 racers that would compete in the Sumo class, Mike, Sonny, Ben, Fran, "The Wall", Martin, Steve, etc.

So why it is being cut if the numbers are there? What is the rationale?

RACE 9 RESULTS

Is the race 9 results ever going to get posted and what is the 411 with the banquet? No one has posted or said anything about the banquet.......just talked about the race classes.

In regards to 97rr comment, why is the SUMO class considered one of the classe to be eliminated? This grid class is bigger than the OPEN class....... :confused

Race 9 results have not been made available by the folks that keep track of the points. As soon as Matt has them they will be available on the new website. At the meeting Matt apologized to everyone for the delay.

www.smrrc.com

You can go there and get the forms for the banquet and for 2007 membership licenses. While your there visit the multimedia page and think of some pics you might have to share. Email them to the webmaster.

As for the pocket bike classes, Matt mentioned the classes will be reduced from 5 to 4 classes. I thought he mentioned the Sumo class was going to be dropped. If it is such a big class, perhaps I heard wrong and it is going to be integrated somehow with another bike. That is the way I remember it and I could be wrong.

I am sure we can wait another day to let Matt comment on this further. I doubt he is making a hasty decision on any of the classes. The idea is to accommodate as many of the racers as possible. There was a decent discussion about mod thunder and how different bikes would fit into it. Even though the class is for dirt bikes, after a lot of discussion there will now be accommodations for sport bike chassis to join in, all in the name of accommodating riders not to limit riders.

I don't see why there can't be further discussion about the pocket bikes.

I'll check out the new site........appreciate the feedback!

I agree Mike....in open I think there was only about 4 riders in that class on 4.2's and prody bikes....I can see if guys spent the money on open class motors, then maybe keep it....but then again, that has been the smallest class...

Keeping light weight prody, and sumo prody...makes it more competitive and only that much more fun.......alot of close tight racing.....

I thought I was doing pretty good in sumo....so I wanted to see where I would finish in light weight prody....LOL....I got SMOKED....LOL....It was like night and day.....all the light weights were out in front....the weight makes a big difference!! And sumo class hasn't been the smallest class either....

This last year has been a blast for me.....A lot of great battles as we were pretty much evenly matched.....making it for some tight close racing....As to where in the light weight and sumo racing together...it was more spead out...lights in the front...sumos in the back....not as much fun....Anyways....hope to see Open go first....then if we had to loose another pb class....then I could definitely see loosing the sumo class......Anyways looking forward to next year!! Hope to have some good battles again!!
